Well, the question so legitimacy I can not answer.  It was forwarded to me but looks like it is authentic.  Every bit of it makes sense.

I would say if the letter is legit it would be the State Police knocking since they issued it.

Is this legit?

Well the date stamp on the letter feel during the week, so who knows it could be.

Looks like the folks in Connecticut could actually get the "we are sick of the Constitution being shat on and no you CANNOT have our Firearms" rebellion started if they do not lay down like sheepe.

I am just wondering how far the CSP is willing to take this violating Connecticut citizen's rights?

Death of freedom and liberty by continuous cuts and where some cuts are deeper than other.  All hail the police state in CT for the common good because why should the dump masses be armed.

Found this on the internet in regards to the possible validity of this letter.  Lt. Cooke, who signed the above letter, is even quoted in this article stating that late applications will be returned, and the options in the above letter are what you have to do.  So it seems this is a real letter.  Even in the actual letter above is not real, everything mentioned in it is in fact the new law.  If you didn't register by Jan 1, you are a felon.

I guess I would be a felon then if I lived in CT.

I wonder if receiving a rejection letter due to being late is probable cause enough for them to search your home to make sure you got rid of the weapons?  I know that if they really wanted to, they can find out who all in the state has bought a firearm that is now banned if they wanted to pursue it further.  With a rejection letter though, they know you have one of those weapons now, and that it is no longer legal.  Anyone who sent in a registration form late is no different than me walking up to a cop and telling them I have drugs on me.

Looks like a lot of folks in Connecticut are fixing to become criminals. I hope the voters do something about this during the next election.

Person should have registered early if they intended to register at all or have not registered.  I find these infringments tiring.  When the State, and/or its agencies do not follow the law, which cannot be in contradiction to the Constitution, then there is no law.  Maybe I am just old and remember living in times when you didnt feel (not that it wasnt happening) or see the government watching and grabbing all your rights away from you constantly, but at some point you reach a point or something like this letter comes along when you decide to become just as lawless as they are.  Fortunately I have not been put into that position or had to make that choice.  yet.  perhaps if the recipiant of that letter lives near a borderwhere they could rent a secure storage facility and rent that and store the weapon there, or a friend in another state close by who would store it for them that would be a short term solution.  Long term, we need to get our rights back.

An aside, unless i am mistaken, if the police came knocking he could should say nothing as I beieve the courts have upheld a felon owning a firearm need not claim he has one as theat would be a fifth amendment violation.

Just thoughts.

Wish I don't think it's so much the government that's destroying our rights as it is the leftist liberals who keep getting them selves elected into it by lying, voter fraud and buying votes through entitlements. They are the real enemies. We still have the best type of government we just have to stop letting people in who are trying to abuse their powers.

Your point is well taken.  Each individual will have their own tipping point where things have gone to the breaking point.  We need an overwhelming movement to restore the Constitution as tackling it as individuals is just going to get a lot of people hurt or put in jail.  As I said, very frustrating.

Man, that is just pitiful.  Just think of what it would have been like if all those guys would have been on the steps of the capitol saying  "NO we won't!!"
