Best Tax day ever because my BHW barrel came in. :yesss:

Specs;

18" standard profile, mid-length gas port,1/2x28 threaded end, black finish.

First a gratuitous plug.....and well deserved from what I have seen so far.

Overall barrel

An excellent crown. A lot better than my SAI Socom 16.

Well there is plenty to do now,

I need to strip my bolt to measure the headspace.

I found out my order for Aeroshell 33MS has been back ordered. But one of my local gun shops I have been buying parts from has offered to give me some.

And line up all my ducks (parts).

Yup! let the fun begin.

Thanks to all of you that have helped me on this journey so far.

M1A Socom 16; Its bark will blow minds, its bite is even worst!

30 Herrett AR; I know 7.62X39 is cheaper... But I already had the 6.8 SPC brass and bolts.

I believe it is. The barrel was sent out for the finish on 3/14/14.

Will do on the range report.

Thank you

That makes two of us.

This barrel is going to be mated to the Crosshill Technologies RH side charger upper I have.

It is definitely going to be an interesting build.

Thanks again everyone!

It will be a good all around rifle for anything in Florida.

Thanks again folks.

I worked late today, but was able to check the headspace.

Purchased the Sinclair AR-15 bolt vise so I could strip the bolt. Worked as advertised, no problem stripping or reassembling the bolt.

First just checked the headspace with a set of Clymer GO/NO-GO gauges. Passed that.

Next checked the actual headspace which measures1.4645".

So now I can start sizing brass for this build.

Work has been a little busy so there is only so much I plan doing each night. Don't want to screw anything up pushing too hard.

So bear with me please.

Thank you.

Glenn

Congratulations. You are on your way.

How do you measure head space to 0.0001?
