Thanks. The Few rounds I did fire through it were pretty light recoiling. I just don't shoot anymore.

If you have a surpressor and attached it to the system it would make for a nice gun. It has 4 gas settings, one for surpressed.  This causes less backpressure and the system will last longer.  If recolis less than a BCM Middy, due to its oprod design and mas. Third, if you don't want to clean it as often. When I asked an Employee at Addax Tactical how often he cleaned the gun he said "Never". Might be marketing but, it isn't that uncommon. Not saying DI won't run with lube for a very long time either, and it doesn't squat where it sleeps.

Shameless plug for Addax and their Piston guns.

They run phenomenally well.  I love mine and same as Steelborn, it is my SHTF rifle!

What I love about it is how well it runs even in adverse conditions and adverse ammo.

Now, when you talk DI vs Piston, you have to remember that while your bolt runs clean and cool in a piston gun, your not running "Clean" like some people think.  All your doing is moving the carbon and gas and all that mess up to the gas block.

The thing is though, generally that area is more forgiving  than venting it all into the bolt, carrier, trigger group, chamber, et al et al.  Same amount of carbon, but fewer moving parts.

When I first got my Addax I decided to run mostly wolf(lake city for sight in, wolf/tula for plinking) and not clean it till it had a failure....

I gave up somewhere past 1500 rounds.

Ive never had a DI AR run past about 600 rounds on a diet of wolf without starting to have issues....  granted I've never had a factory Dan Defense or other high end AR.  Hell, only complete one I had from the factory was a RRA carbine and that would start to double feed past 350 rounds or so....

So for the TL:DR crowd.  Addax piston guns are great!  $1000 is a great price!  If I wasn't broke, I'd be all over it!
