Man I hate hunting when its stays as hot as it does here. Nothing like sitting on your stand and sweating. I have basically given up on bow hunting because its always above 70* in the morning and above 90* for the evening hunt. Getting attacked by mosquitoes, ticks and chiggers is a constant threat. Add in all the other things that will bit you in NEFL and it gets pretty tough to enjoy time in the woods.
Yesterday, Dec 24th, we went down for a day of small game (read hogs) hunting. It was nice and cool in the morning, about 59* but by 2pm it was 80*. Its usually cooler down in the swamps but to be covered in sweat by the time you get to your stand and set up really limits your chances of not being scented by something that can smell and acorn from a mile away.. The fact that I sweat terribly does not help. It can be 30* outside and if I am doing anything like digging, I have stripped to my Tshirt and still sweat.
Another fine Xmas. I am putting on shorts and headed to see the grand kids.
