Hit the gun show over the weekend to pick up a lower for my sons ar build. I mentioned to the wife is like to pick up a rifle if I could get a deal about $600 on an ak variant. She was very amicable after I bought her the carry rig she'd been wanting for a while and someone happened to be selling at the show. So as we're glossing over everything towards the end I run across a guy with a brand new Ras47 with a $670 tag and "make legit offer" under it. Being the last day I offered $500. He pulled the owner over and they said $575. So I walked out with it for $615. I've only put 20 rounds through it, winchester white box, but I put every one on a6 inch target free standing at 25 yards which I thought was damn good for never having handled an ak before. I guess that ss barrel is really a great upgrade. I'll get some better pics and more rounds in tomorrow. b093ba304014e398d78d772550d0b9d3.jpg

Yes Century. RAS= Red Army Standard. Century's new "brand"

That should be a 100% made in US rifle. Nice score.

I really couldn't be more happy with this thing except getting an optic for it. I've got a moe grip to put on tomorrow because the stock one is cheap feeling. Then I just need to find a zukhov stock in grey, which might be difficult since I think magpul discontinued that color for ak furniture.

Watch out for that tactical attack ceiling fan though.

The wife and I are going to the range Saturday. She's planning to shoot everything so I can't wait for her to shoot this.

So I put the moe grip on tonight, it's a thousand times better. But whoever at magpul said, "hey let's make the screw a flat head," f*** that arsehole.

The new ones are hex/flathead combo.

I believe the intention was that everyone has a flathead and the rifle would be easier to be serviced in the field.

I also changed my AK-47 grip to a magpul grip last week and would have cursed up and down if it didn't have the hex combo on it.

Yeah, I was baffled since the grip that came off was a hex. I thought maybe I cross threaded it because it was so difficult because the slot is super shallow and about halfway between a dime and nickel in size. Maybe that was my imagination, but I killed one flat head on it.
