Awesome! Local hockey teams are great fun to watch. Even if they lose they start a fight.

That looks like a fun day. I wish we had an NHL team around here. Not that I'd like to pay those ticket prices.

It was a good game.  Mudbugs won 3-2 with 1:43 left in sudden death overtime.  Had a couple good fights.

They had a jersey auction after the game.  I wanted to get my daughter one, but damn....they went for a lot of money.  I think the cheapest one went for $500, and the highest one went for $2000.  Needless to say, we left without one.

Hockey in Shreveport, well, I'm be damned.

It's a lot of fun too TJ.  We had a hockey team from 1997 to 2011 where we won the CHL Championship in 2011.  After that championship game, the team folded.  The venue was just too expensive, ant they couldn't get the fan participation.

But the owner vowed to bring a team back to Shreveport.  And At the beginning of this season, minor league hockey came back to Shreveport.

It was a long five year wait.

Very nice, we (my son) used to go to 5-7 games a season to see the Predators play. Most of them was with GM. They put together a package deal for employees. Bus ride to and from the stadium, drinks, reduced ticket prices. It worked out great, no traffic, parking and really good seats.
I haven't been in a few years but I love the game. Glad y'all had a great time, it's always good to spend time with your kids.

I hear you man.  Its just when I lived near there, it was unimaginable.  Its not like the kids grew up ice skating on the ponds.

I'm sure its great.  Got into going to games when I lived in the frozen north.  My company had season tickets, including club passes, for the Redwings.  Now that was nice, eat dinner before the game and have drinks waiting on you at your table between periods.

BTW, Can't appreciate hockey on TV.  Its a sport you have to see live to see the stratagem.

That is absolutely true.  If i can't watch a Hockey game live, I probably won't watch it.

It's still hard to get people into going to the games, and you won't get it going to just one.  You have to go to several to get hooked.  But once you're hooked, there's no going back.  It's like three hours of crack.

Live hockey is one of the best events you can go to. The local teams are more fun to watch. I've been to a couple Everett Silvertip games. It's apparent the difference between groups. At the Seattle Thunder hawk games they tell fans not to taunt the other team or be rude. In Everett (more working class) it's all about

What a bunch of p*****s. We have chants that tell the other team how much they suck. "HE SHOOTS! HE SCORES! YOU SUCK!" is just one of many.

We have a chant directed straight at the goalie of the opposite team after we score, that tells him "It's all your fault!"

We throw hundreds of plastic crawfish, or Mudbugs, on the ice after we score. They hire kids to go out with buckets and pick them up.

I told my kids when they were little that at the hockey game is the only place they can say "You Suck" and not get in trouble.

Oh yeah, we have a good time.

My daughter #2 is into hockey.  Our local team, the Condors, is a minor league team for Edmonton.  Beat that.
