I've tried to search and haven't found much so I figured I'd start a thread. Anyone have any good loads for a .40 using cfe pistol? I have some 180 grain round nose bullets I'll be loading for my m&p. I know about working up loads, but figured I'd ask to see a good starting point.

Yea I looked at hodgdons website already. I was more looking for some that were already proven to be good loads. I know every gun is different, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

That's one pistol caliber I've never loaded for.

.40 s&w is that load I've had trouble with my .45acp reloads all my guns love them but the .40 is a whole different story my glock hates them and my springfield not real fond either I found by resizing the finished load that my springfield is ok with them but I would not bet my life on them my .45 acp reload hell yes I'd steak my life on...

I loaded some a few years ago before I got out of and then back into reloading. I never had a problem with them. I'm just going to work up loads for them with the cfe and 800x. I guess it's not a very popular pistol cartridge around here. It's one of my favorites.

Im a fan of .40, but you're right, all I hear about on here is mostly loading 9mm or .45

I've got the dies but no handgun. I suspect they may well be unused when I kick the bucket. I shot against one in OK years ago in the hands of one of the the best shooters in the state. He did well with it but suddenly a 9X21 kicked his butt just often enough to make it interesting..LOL

I think it's fine but I'd have to shoot it's big brother if I went that bore size. No substitute for cubic inches and horsepower.

I have never shot a 10mm, but really want to. I have a feeling once I do, I will go that route. I love my .45, but I really like the feeling of a .40.

My brother carried one over to Desert Storm, don't ask how, and loves his. When the FB1 had to trade down in power I knew I would probably like it. They still carry the 10 MM MP5  though..NICE!!

I've shot a few 1911 10 MM's over the years and like the thump but I'm still dragging my feet on a 460 Rowland. Maybe I can get that one going this summer..LOL
