I acquired and Anderson AM 10 hunter rifle. My plan was to make it into a .338 Federal.  I have had the Black Hole barrel for a while. This rifle has never been fired.  I traded of the .AR 10 barrel as part of a trade here.  It has a Anderson EXT forearm.  This is a slim forearm so it requires a slimmer barrel nut. This requires you to buy a barrel nut wrench from them. I was going along good on the swapout. took the forearm off then I removed the Gas Block and gas tube. Got my wrench and it wouldn't fit over the barrel turned it over and it had 15 on the back  :tap:  and would not fit the AR 10 barrel at the last part of it where it goes in the upper. Had to order another one. I am waiting on the wrench which shipped today. The advantage of the slimmer nut is it doesn't cover the hole the gas tube slides through so I can torque it down without having to index the gas tube hole to the hole in the barrel nut.

it is fairly close in performance to a 7mm Remington Magnum with less recoil.

Today I pulled out the Barrel Torque Tool I ordered from Brownells to put the BHW Barrel on only to discover it was for an AR15. e-mailed Brownells and they have already shipped me the right one for an AR10 and are sending me a label to mail the old one back.  This barrel swap out is quite the adventure so far.

This is the tool for the AR15

I present to you Thumper as I will stick with RetCop's name for the rifle.

It is the AM10 Anderson Anderson Hunter with a BHW .338 Federal barrel 1x9.3 SS P3

https://www.anderson...er-am10-hunter/

It has a RRA one peice mount with a Primary Arms  1-8x scope

Sweet.

I must say I like the Anderson EXT slim barrel nuts  they don't cover the gas hole so you can torque you barrel nut and not have to worry about aligning any holes for the gas tube. plus you can make the forearm a smaller diameter.  When you clamp it down on the nut it isn't going anywhere.
