The requirements seem impossible. I think it would require a whole new firearm design.

So, which company with ties to the goberment has this one already in the bag. Anytime you see this type of specs you can bet they already have one in hand or a company has already submitted a option. We have seen this before, just not in 300.

Kinda. This was the basis for the Masada by magpul if you remember. It was basically a scar with cam locking quick changing barrels.

One of the stipulations is it has to be fully functional if the stock is collapsed, folded or extended. Using the existing lowers, i just dont see how they can make it fit the minimum length.

What is the shortest buffer system in the market? Could the length be accomplished from that end?
Here is my thinking. For Bows the old style stabilizer was solid. Then we went to a piston and spring system to also help with noise and shock. Then a hydraulic system was invented, did the same but was only around 3" long. Not so much for stabilizing but still removed shock and sound.
Is it possible?

Why hasn't anyone made a BCG that collapses onto itself and eliminates the entire buffer system?

That sounds like extra parts to move on each other and get jammed up.

I think the .300BO is a good choice.  The rifle they want will be incredible and the .30cal bullet will be a big advantage in CQB.  If they get the super version the sub version with suppression will follow  I think the .300BO will become a favorite for house clearing.

I built a AR pistol for that very reason. Because The round was developed for a short barrel makes it a perfect HD/House clearing weapon IMO.

It makes it very handy with a suppressor attached.
