This is great news.  The old law was idiotic, and repressive to say the least.  No sound reason, it was enacted in the first-place.  Glad we've now joined the 21st-Century with a host of other states, now allowing auto-knife carry.  I'm looking at an Ox Forge 'black knife' to add to my collection.  More money.

Excellent! Now I can finally carry the ones that I've had for decades.

Our Governor just signed new knife legislation into law that is effective 1 Sep 2017. It now preempts any local laws that are stricter than the state law. Now we can carry double edged knives, dagger, Bowie knives ect. Removed the 5.5 inch length limit. Auto knives were legal under a previous law. I carry one now. I am looking forward to buying a dagger and a push dagger.

Michigan's old 'switchblade statute' gets repealed at midnight tonight.  Dusted-off my Masters of Defense Point Man, it'll now go into my regular EDC rotation.

You can sadly, never have enough switchblades.   I have, a Benchmade AFO that's been gathering dust too.  I'm not keen on aluminum handles though.
