So I'm going to the range after traffic dies down and ventilate some paper targets.

Man, I wish I could adequately express how angry I am these days. Between my job, some of my "friends" and all the stupidity going on in the news and politically I'm just fed-the-frack up.

So it's time to go poke holes in some paper bad guys and burn off some of my anger. I'm gonna take some oddballs to the range this evening.

A Bernardelli 22LR Model 80, Smith & Wesson Model 51 in 22 Mag and my much loved Smith Model 64 DAO.

There. Hell, I feel better just writing that.

Get er done........I have been on vacation and just doing what I want when I want to.......it's a nice break from the a-hole in charge at my work. Unfortunately for me I have to go back on Monday......and my recoil therapy session this morning had horrid results so that did not help matters.......then I went and loaded up my Bulldozer and my wood splitter and headed off the mountain...only to have the trailer brakes go out half way down the big mountain. I managed to get it pulled over and had all four of the brakes on my pickup smoking. I fixed the issue and let the pickup cool off then continued home. Once I got everything unloaded I jacked up the trailer and adjusted the brakes. I think my magnets may be getting worn so I will have to pull everything apart when I pack the bearing and check them all out.  Oh, I have to pull the fuel filter housing off the pickup and rebuild the primer pump...the o-rings went out again. $24 for the kit verses $400 for the dealer to fix it, oh yeah, I will fix that myself.

I feel your pain.......and my left knee is killing me for some reason....I may have damaged that one somehow too.

I hope to get to the range in the morning. It will feel good to punch some holes.

Good deal FW, lol, I understand brother.
Sometimes you just need to burn some powder, crank up the wick on the diesel and roll some coal or eat some mud with the Jeep. Anything to give the mind a break from everything going on.
Unfortunately we had a really rough day. It's soon to be in another post.

Yea, it felt good. The little Bernardelli 22 is a sweet shooter. I shot all of the ammo I brought with me. Every last round for all three guns.

I'm sorry you are having a crap day. I did not realize it until late in the day but yesterday was the third anniversary of my father passing. That just made things worse.

Enjoy the recreation and blowing off some steam. I keep trying to go but every day I could go this week had the wind blowing badly. I refuse to fight 25 MPH winds anymore.Retirement does have a few perks like that. I have a teaching session set up for next week indoors though so I will get some of it out of my system.helping another shooter.

Yea, the trip to the indoor range was therapeutic. I felt a lot better once I had got some recoil therapy. (for whatever small amount 22LR gives up in recoil.)

Glad you got out and had some fun.

I have not felt quite like this since the riots in the late 60's.

It just feels like the dry tinder box is going to go any minute.

John, I think the tinderbox analogy is spot on. That is the feeling deep down in my bones I am getting but had not realized it that way.

I can tell you I felt a lot better after blowing some ammo off. It would likely make you feel better too.

Oh, that's the joy of my range being in my back yard.  I have steel targets set up at 50 yards for the 9mms.  If it's still light when I get home from work, I can just step out back and pop off a few rounds, even in my slippers.

I drive way too far to get to work but I just don't want to move.

It sometimes helps to put a mental image of who or what has been giving you grief on the target.

I haven't been able to shoot for a month or so, just no time to tear myself away. But I get to teach a class on Wednesday, and having our guys shooting at targets will be therapy enough to get by for a few weeks. Once deer season is over here, I can sneak back out to my range on public land and enjoy shooting without disturbing the hunters.
