I like those Supermarine Scimitar F.1 jets in the foreground.

Thanks,

Turning 5.56X45 mm brass into 6X45 mm brass one case at a time since April 2014.

6.8 SPC II, That's .270 Lite for those of us in the real world.

M1A Socom 16; Its bark blows minds, its bite is even worst!

30 Herrett AR; I know, 7.62X39 is cheaper... But I already had the 6.8 SPC brass and bolts.

Actually the first four are De Havilland Sea Vixens, weird plane with twin booms and a long flat tail.  The very last one is a Supermarine Scimitar, quite possibly the most dangerous naval airplane of all time, almost half lost to accident while in service.  I really have a thing for Fleet Air Arm aircraft.

Interesting picture. They could still have carriers if they did not pay a lot of people not to work.

Britain does have one or two. In fact they just launched a super expensive new carrier last year. HMS Queen Elizabeth.

Yes, sad isn't it?

I should clarify. Recently Britain did not have any carriers in service. The Queen Elizabeth shown above will be joined by a sister ship, the Prince of Wales. Total of 2 ships in the class.

Unfortunately, this.  They also depend heavily on our resources as they have done for a hundred years.  While they switch to war footing when needed, as with so many others, they know we are at the ready for anything  We do not need to be the world's protectorate.  I hope Trump will instill in them the need to be ready as well.  Its not easy when there are so many depending on the .gov to give them everything they need.

STOL ?

Well I was trying to find a way to say "why bother with an aircraft carrier" when the best thing they can fly off it is the Harrier. (Unless they ever get the Magik Unicorn STOL/VTOL F-35 variant)

Unimpressed is about the right word.

I have signed up for some defense alerts,

but I either muffed the app for Janes Defence

or they decided I don't rate a free subscription.

And I just realized, you may be asking what STOL is... Short TakeOff and Landing The V is for Vertical. Sorry slow today. My head hurts.
