Although I have some mechanical ability how hard is to do an 80% build on an aluminum lower AR15 receiver?

Why would a German need to do an 80% build? And from what? The export restrictions have got to be a mess for something like that.

I did a plastic lower first and an aluminum later on a heavy drill press.

The plastic one was easier on the drill press.

A drill press is not designed for side force so it is not ideal.

I broke an endmill within 10 seconds of finishing the aluminum one and haven't bought a new endmill yet.

A LaRue trigger will not fit in the aluminum lower but a milspec trigger works fine as well as a Delton 2 stage trigger.

I would hope that he does, otherwise I would advise on not attempting it.
