I am planning to order a Fusion Commander in 10mm as soon as funds become available.

I have searched this forum and the M1911 forum for answers but cannot find one.

Who makes the most reliable, highest quality, "best" 10mm 1911 magazine?

I have heard a lot of good things about Check-mate's .45ACP 1911 mags but nothing about their 10mm mags.

What 10mm 1911 mags do you guys use and recommend?

I'm sure you will hear differing opinions, but I've been using 5 Chip McCormick magazines for the past 1 1/2 years with absolutely no problems. Price was reasonable and reliability has been great.

IMHO, the Metalform magazines have yet to fail. I rely on them without reservation.

Geoffrey, I currently use Chip McCormick 'Shooting Star', magazines in both .45ACP and 10mm platforms. Metalforms and MecGar; are equally well-made, and are functionally top-notch. I have heard different user opinions on Wilson magazines, and for Tripp CobraMags. Since, the magazine is the most important part of the autopistol, it makes since to buy the best. Which sometimes isn't always the most expensive! A case in point, I purchased some G. I. pistol mags for about five dollars apiece at a gun show. They were still in the original shipping cosmolene. I cleaned and inspected them, they are functionally flawless--go figure.

I have several Metalform 10mm mags I would be willing to part with at a reasonable price. PM me if you're interested.

The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. "Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble? "No Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle."

I agree.

Cobra Mags are alright. In my case 9 rounders feed fine, 10 rounders feed fine as long as there are only 9 loaded.

Older review of the 9-rd Tripp Cobra mags and the 10-rd Metalforms ...

Since the time that review was done, several years now, Wilson's produced his 8-rd 10mm mags again, and they come with the low-profile bumper pads (they're virtually identical to his 8-rd 45acp mags). They're supposed to be 9-rd mags, but I can only get 8 squeezed in. Pads are almost mandatory if your 1911 has some sort of magwell or mag funnel. My Tibbets custom Delta has the S&A mag well.

Also, there are the original Colt factory mags floating around out there (no pads). Brownell's still lists them, I believe.

It's a Spartan thing.

I have been using the Chip McCormicks in my Kimber 10.
They have never missed a beat.
