  1. This morning I went to Wills Point, Texas to see a collection of reloading supplies that were part of a moving sale. The guy was a bit crazy on his asking prices but I managed to get a bunch of good supplies at what I thought was reasonable money in the end. Got 15 pounds of various Hodgdon/IMR powders. Several hundred clean 357 mag cases, 200 loaded 357, 100 25 ACP, brass, brass, brass and more brass. lots of 358, 9mm and 10mm bullets, 1500 CCI small pistol primers etc. There was a lot of stuff left I'd have been able to use eventually but he was just kinda whacked and didn't want to make a'lot price' deal. Oh well. Got to see my buddy Fernando so that was a highlight. Now I have a pile of crap to find space for in the reloading room.

  3. Yup. I was a dedicated football fan for a lot of years. Thursday night, Sunday all day, Monday night were all blocked off to watch football. After all this crap I’m saying screw it. No need to help their ratings watching that crap! Sean Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Seattle is a lost cause. The people here are to stupid to b allowed to vote. Let it burn to the ground. It can’t be saved while the citizens are so completely retarded. They are the ones who’ve done this & they deserve every level of hell they get.

  5. The NAZIs are not in power anymore. Why? Because the US Government understood in 1941 that you can't kill an idea but you CAN kill the people pushing it. Matt

  6. So, the tree is down. And I saved some saw logs. So today was sawmill day: I got a bunch of 1” thick boards, a few 2” thick boards, a couple ‘more than 2’ for a bench or something, and a 6x6. The 1” boards are carried around back and stacked for drying. The 2” and 6x6 will have to wait a day or two. Tomorrow I’m meeting my son at a gun shop 1/2 way between us and we’re going to do some horse-trading (a couple Safe Queens traded for a rifle for my daughter-in-law and possibly one for my son). Then back to lumber handling and home renovation on Monday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Professional sports will be the death of professional sports. So far hockey is the only one left worth watching. And just wait until all the womens' leagues start back up. They are the SJW pros and it will be sickening. The best part of it is they will not understand why they are no longer watched. No one needs the shat for entertainment.

  10. The NFL is dead to me. The left has been trying to kill it for years, and they are succeeding. The sport has been emasculated, rosters largely filled with overpaid malcontents, and owners without any balls sucking off the teat of local and State governments with subsidized stadiums that are over- designed, overpriced, and unnecessary. I’m done....

  11. Gun shots nearly every night. Needles litter the street along with the junkies who discard them. Homeless camps are as common as homes, but with mountains of trash & rats. Truly amazing to see people pay a million dollars for 1,200 sq ft house across from a junkie camp & not think something is vastly wrong. To say leftist mindset is an oxymoron There is zero thought happening in the mind of a liberal. It’s actually the opposite of thought. I want to see every one of these fools crying in a pile of ashes as their loved ones are dragged off & eaten by rats & junkies. I truly loathe this city & what the mindless inhabitants have done to it.

  12. This one, like my other Cold Steel blades gave me a little get-acquainted nick. This make comes extremely-sharp out-of-the-box. What was nice, is that I got three extra black T-6 button-head screws with it for the pocket-clip. So, I got to replace the missing-one on my AD-10. The only two brands I would bet my life on, are Benchmade, and Cold Steel. You won't be disappointed with a Cold Steel in your rotation. Usually, either of these brands serves as an augment to my primary weapon.

  13. 25 years ago Seattle was awesome. The only time I have ever stayed in a 5 star hotel and the best sushi I ever had. It cost me dearly but it was amazing and the woman with me was worth it.

  14. Part of the internal ballistics argument also favors the 6.8 case because it can run at higher pressures and that gives you velocity. Given a proven accurate rifle, a good hunting bullet, accurate range finding and some calm nerves I could talk you in to that shot after a couple days on your belly and several class room sessions. I've done it time and time again with kids that I bet didn't have half your skill set. I had two guys from Puerto Rico with new 700 PSS guns banging 8" plates at 500 yards consistently in less than three days. They were a fun pair.....lol It's all centered on basic rifle work and learning under non-threatening and fun circumstances. Greg

  17. 2400, IMR 4227, Clay's,540,296. true blue for 357 magnum and add in Unique for 38 +p. Powder charges have been full house to mild and no other powder gave me issues. I shot the Bullseye load in my sp 101 and it shot fairly well.

  18. Ted the guys are great with external ballistics calculators but you need an internal ballistic type that gives results from trigger pull to bullet exit. The only currently available set up for Hobbyists/Dirt Shooters is QuickLoad. You can play what if until the cows come home and walk away with a ton of information that will save you money. It IS NOT!!! a reloading program. It is a computer model that is not 100% every time as so many thing come in to play as bore cross section, depth of lands and grooves, variation in powder burn lots and primer vagaries. It will get you right where you want so you have an inkling of what you are wanting to shoot. You select all parameters of the load from bullet, powder, barrel length, load COL and temperatures. Here you go: https://www.neconos.com/category/Software-2 Not cheap but I would find enough in my rat hole money to buy it. Get the kids to buy it as an early Christmas present!! I have used this for over five years. It makes working with my wildcats much easier. We have actually shot the 6X6.8 with pressure set ups and were within 100 PSI on many many loads. I don't pull the trigger on an unknown non-book loading without running it through the program. It also lets me look at wild butted claims of others with XXX speeds with "no pressure signs" and find they are way into the 70,000 PSI range. No bueneo. Greg

  19. Here is the thing about estimating MV with powder change. It is really nothing more than a wild ass guess. For example. I had a R700 that was shooting 150 FPS lower than the published data from the reloading book. On the other hand, my GA Precision is almost 200 FPS faster than the max load in the book and I can still add 1.5 grains of powder before I am at max. There are so many variations in guns, dies, powder that its really a stab in the dark. What I have found with my GA is it likes to shoot a certain speed. Get off of that and it will only do about a 1-1.3 inch group at 100. Get it on and it will do .3 or less with any bullet you can push at that speed. I have done it with Nosler, Hornady, Lapua., and Federal. Anything in the 175-178 range if I can get it in the 2740+/- 5 FPS it will be a quarter minute load all day long. And to give you an idea of where that is on the chart. According to Hodgen I should be about 2728 with a 45.6 grain compressed load. I am at 44 grains doing 2740. So I dont put a lot of faith in estimaters. The bullet is the truth, it doesnt lie.

  20. I've been really pleased with Strelok Pro. Last year at the Armory shoot I printed out drop tables for loads worked up near sea level that I had it correct for 7000ft, and it was spot on to over 1000yds. It also has databases for reticles, factory ammo, and bullets that are quite extensive.

  21. What the morons fail to understand, is that there is a YUGE difference between anti-government and anti-American protests. If they were protesting to take out the anti-American trash that has infiltrated our country/government, then I would gladly be there, but they aren't protesting their own existence.

  22. Gun loving patriots believe in the Constitution and the rule of law and a respect for public and private property. We do protest but they are peaceful and not violent. So no we won't be showing up at violent riots.

  23. Spent this evening finishing up the resizing on the LC cases I picked up recently. Lots of work has been done. Sorted by headstamp. Decapped, primer pockets swaged, tumbled clean, etc. Now all are sized and ready for the trimmer. A total of 622 LC cases. My shoulder hurts from all the press-pulling. I've previously said how much I hate loading .223/5.56. However this round of loading is not as irritating to me as it's been in the past. Dunno why. Going to Wills Point, TX tomorrow to look at some reloading supplies. A buddy of mine knows this elderly vet who's in the process of moving and wants to sell his stuff. Be a good opportunity to see my buddy Fernando and get out of Dodge for half a day. Maybe even score some good supplies.

  24. So I did some digging and the reason it was declared unlawful was the police placed the barricades to keep them from getting on the highway. The protesters say that the only option left for them was to march back toward the counter protesters. The police dispute this as with any city there are other ways to go they just weren't going to allow the protesters onto the highway. The protest was declared unlawful when some of the protesters started discussing among themselves that they outnumbered the police and could push their way through the police line. The police then announced the protest was unlawful and had to disperse and the protesters did what they were discussing and tried to force their way through and violence erupted. Now, the whole reason for the march to start with was a skeleton hanging in a tree which was explained as a Halloween decoration that is left up year round. But when rumors of the march went around the skeleton was removed before the day of the march. Where the protesters story gets sketchy is they said there were armed white supremacists in the neighborhood they just went through, the area they said they would have to go back through if they didn't continue on the route the police had blocked. Now, I don't know about anyone else but if I was marching for blm and came across armed white supremacists I wouldn't continue past them, I would nope outta there because I am not looking for trouble so I would never have to worry about walking back past them if I got turned around. Somehow we are to believe that the marchers who were mostly white, were afraid of the white supremacists and didn't want trouble but they were ok with attacking the police in order to get past them. I call bullshat.

  25. This........the anarchists/blm idiots are really raising a stink, seems they totally expected gun owners to come to their aid and rescue them.......they are really pissed off more gun owners are not protesting with them, they claim Trump is anti gun, he banned bump stocks and on and on....it's really quite comical that they do not understand how their demanding red flag laws, gun control and such is turning around and bitting them in the face.... Lots of people point to the "riot" in VA when gun owners stormed the capitol building & how blm are now doing the same & yet white gun owners refuse to join blm and how racist they are.

  26. With commercially available ammo, your lower, and reach out and touch someone, its the .264LBC, better known as 6.5 Grendel. Bullet coefficients of the 6.5 are fantastic. Ammo is still expensive so your not gonna go out and shoot 100 rounds twice a week. .308 based rifles are great but I can tell you, its hard to find parts right now speaking from personal and unfinished rifle experience. And your lower will still be a paper weight. Most parts manufacturers are concentrating on the AR15 platform and customer's demands. It took 11 retailers and help from a .308 Forum to find an Aero Precision lower receiver to match my upper. I will also spend around $1400 (without optic) on it but I am buying serious quality parts. You can build a nice Grendel for about half. XonlyJ is right, If you stick with the Type 1, you can swap barrels and possibly magazines and double your fun with a 7.62X39. Ammo is cheap. There ya go, my $0.02. Good luck!

  27. Left here. Also first time poster. I do pretty much everything left handed, except play guitar. I just got first first pistol, an HK VP9SK, now I'm on the hunt for an AR. I havent decided if I want a left handed Ar or not. I cant really find anything. Price range is around 1500-2k. Could possibly go a little higher.

  29. Just found out another buddy from Okinawa has cancer and not expected to see another sunrise....... Have lost track of how many people I know from Okinawa that had had or have some form of cancer and I know without a shadow of doubt it's all due to Agent Orange, but everybody in the Govt denies it was ever on the island or used.....yet over 20 empty barrels were found burred under the field we did PT on and not far from the dorm we lived in..... How Ironic the Vietnam War is still killing American Troops....... Did I say, Cancer Sucks......
