  1. My wife brough home this magazine devoted to Zombie Nation and this rifle as the main article. From Valkyrie Armament :oh yea: droooooollllllllll http://www.gunsandammo.com/2012/05/01/belt...ment-bsr-mod-1/
  2. Just finished up with my first 6.8'er YHM 6.8 Upper Spike's Tacticle Lower Bison SS 18" Recon Barrel with Bolt Delton Bolt Carrier Delton Lower Parts Kit (stiff trigger, will upgrade later) YHM Lo-pro gas block Midwest Ind Gen 2 SS Free Float Troy Ind Medievil Muzzle Brake 6 Position Stock (for now) Still have to decide on a scope, magazines, and sling.
  3. Going for my 3rd AR build and looking at the 6.8 platform. I am looking at my latest issue of Shotgun News and see M&A Parts out of Illinios and KB MFG out Texas carry this round in decent priced kits. Looking for some guidance based on anybody's experience with these two companies. There is also Model 1 Sales but not seen anything good there in the forums. Andy

  5. Thanks DMV at least there are those that remain out there to give constructive advice insted of busting a guys ego, I am not new to AR's just new to the CQB theme, my last build was a standard 20" A2 with carry handlemounted scope. My days in the Army was nothing more than an A2 and the basic A4. The truth is I was more caught up in the build and really did think when I stuck the cover on the gas block and just stuck the scope on the top. Being I have never used a quad rail before it is a learning experience. I intend to use both scope and sights but as you say need to get a quick disconnect mount. I use my guns more for running the woods and brush and depending on the shot need one or the other. Just to set the story straight my toy store is Cheaper Than Dirt and sell a wide arrangement of products and they are real MBUS sights. I could go out and buy the expesive Troy and DD products but feel for my application is is a waste of money. The world of the soldier and public defender has changed greatly and see the need for good quality products when you are putting your life on the line. That being said and knowing what a soldier gets paid you would think that companies would price their items based on need instead of their popularity. As far as the bi-pod I bought it three years ago it is not a Harris, while typing the post it is the name that came to mind and 12131's post reminded me that harris' do have the external springs. That being said I don't remember the brand name and as I posted it is shared off of my SAIGA 7.62 that I use for wild boar/feral hog hunting. I have seen several people use the 223 AR as a hog gun and going to try this one out to see how it does. Thanks for all the posts and comments and no hard feelings.
  6. DPMS with a E.R. Shaw barrel done by a local smithy
  7. Went to the Toy Store today and got some accessories: UTG Quad Rail UTG Combat LCD Flashlight UTG Tactical Foregrip MBUS Flip up Sites MAGPUL PMAGs BEC 3-9x42 Scope (first time buying one will have to give feedback) Harris Bi-Pod (shared from my SAIGA) May have to get some taller scope rings but supprisingly there is no obstruction in the field of view from the flip up sights. Now off to the range to breake it in!!!!!!
  8. There are so many decisions, I am still looking at the toy catalog. Thinking of a multi-purpose with a quad rail, flip up front/rear sights, and either a 3x9 scope or a red dot. May add flashlight and handle/bipod.
  9. Just pick it up this weekend, DPMS with an E.R. Shaw barrel. Going to the toy store this weekend to accessorize.
  10. Sure go ahead, but make sure i get any kickbacks due!!!
  11. Flat Model paint from the hobby store, paint thinner, toothpicks, and tiny brushes. Thin out the flat white and use the toothpick to fill in the impressions and wipe off with a paper towel soaked with paint thinner to get the residual off and the paint will stay in the impressions. Let it dry and came back with the rest of the colors and the tiny paint brush and filled in between the white lines. Like i said took longer to do this than to put the rifle together.
  12. Ok here it is, went old school with my first one becasue of my Army days. It took longer to do the artwork than to put it together! :oh yea: Del-ton 20" Standard Kit: Barrel:20" DTI 1X9 Chrome Molly Standard Gas Tube Standard Handguard Standard Bolt & Carrier A2 Buttstock - Black A2 Grip - Black A2 Flash Hider Standard A2 Front Sight Standard Lower Parts Standard Charging Handle A2 Upper SOG Armory Lower Tasco 3x9x32 Red & Green Lighted Reticle Scope TAPCO Black Polymer 30 Round Mags Uncle Mikes Sling All in pieces: Assembled Right Side: Assembled Left Side: Cool Lower Logo Before: Cool Lower Logo After:
  13. Well by the time it was all said and done i ended up having to go to the UPS hub and pick up the package myself. The truck had come by earlier than normal and left the dreaded "Sorry You Weren't Home" Notice and there was not enough time for a re-try. Gotten it together and and will post pics soon, going to the toy store tomorrow to get some add-ons.
