    Bushmaster Patrolman price

I do like Colts! My first AR that I purchased over 20 years ago was a sporter lightweight that I still shoot. I typically only shoot 55gr bullets and some 50grain vmax occassionaly. The milspec tubes are definately better but if I somehow broke it I can replace it for around $30. If I found it necessary to switch to an FA BCG that's another $125. Still a few hundred less than buying the Colt.
  2. I've been shopping around for a new AR and found new Bushmaster patrolmans on Armslist for $599. My local dealer can't get me one for less than $800 minus the $50 mail in rebate. Almost seems like too good of a price! What are your thoughts? http://www.armslist.com/posts/3614965/wisconsin-rifles-for-sale--sale----new-bushmaster-ar-15-patrolman-5-56--223

    obama's gun ban speech

Gotta love number 9 on the list. Coming from our president...The ultimate hypocrite... 9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations. Can you say Fast and Furious? Probably the biggest firearms scandal in US history? Maybe we should do a trace of THOSE guns! And those were MILITARY STYLE ASSAULT WEAPONS!!! Not our de-tuned civilian style ar's. What a joke

    Searching... 20" upper receiver

Thanks for the info but I should have mentioned that I'm looking for a flat top.
  6. I've been searching the web for a 20" complete upper receiver in 5.56/.223 with a threaded barrel. I'm not having much luck. I called RRA and they are back ordered for 4-5 months. Any ideas of where I might find one? I'm open to any brand granted it's decent quality. Thanks!

    Gas block removal

Hey guys. Sorry for the delay. Work got way too busy yesterday so I finally got after it today. It finally came off. I gave the block itself a little bit of heat to expand it's grip from the barrel and it helped a bunch. A few good smacks with a deadblow hammer did it. Thanks for all of the help! Now onto installing new handguards!

    Gas block removal

Grrr. Sorry if those pics aren't working. The gun was never fired, it is brand new. I hit it pretty damn hard with that hammer and the gas tube was out so I got a good hit on it. I'm a mechanic so I can swing pretty good

    Gas block removal

Hey guys. I recently purchased this gun http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/m400-srp.aspx and wanted to remove the gas block (picatinny rail style). I was unable to remove the gas block to install the new handguard. I removed the two hard pins with a punch and the small tension pin that goes through the gas tube but I could not for the life of me get the gas block to slide off. Any ideas? I gave some pretty good smacks with a brass hammer on the meat of the block and it didn't move at all. In fact, the pins went right back in so i know it didn't move. What am I missing??? Thanks for the help. p.s. I'm new to the board but have had a few AR's for years. I've just decided with all the uncertainty these days that it's time to dust them off, customize them, and go out and shoot!
