    Experience with Georgia Arms .223?

Thanks, rasputin. They always keep some of what they produce in their small retail shop. Pretty sure I will be able to drive over there and pick some up this weekend. Sorry for the double post. Still learning my way around this place!

    Experience with Georgia Arms .223?

I have shot a couple hundred rounds of their .40 through a buddy's Beretta and found it to be accurate and pretty clean. Any experience here with their .223? Just bought a NIB Stag M2 and want to make sure this ammo is good enough to run through it. They are within driving distance, so I can pick up a bunch of it if the reviews here are good. Appreciate the input! I posted this in the Ammo section, but it seems like this part of the board gets more traffic. Anybody with some hands-on experience with Georgia Arms .223? Thanks!

    AR15 Prices Fading!

I picked up a Stag M2 for $855 on Gunbroker. Seems like a pretty fair price. Now if I can just score a few 30 round magazines at a decent price! I am on a few mailing lists for in-stock notification. I think the latest talk about more Executive Orders has put some fear back in the market.
  6. My first AR! Stag Arms M2 AR-15 Should arrive next week. 1000 223 Remington 55 grain @ .48 per 1000 .40 S&W @ .29 per
  7. All's well that ends well. Mr. Evasive never responded to the request for his driver's license. So I called him on it and flagged his post on Armslist. Kept hunting and found a brand new Stag Arms Model 2 on Gunbroker. Picked it up right at the end of the auction for $855 plus shipping from a highly rated dealer. Better gun at a better price than the scammer was offering me. Moral of the story: follow your gut and CYA! Thanks for all the replies and input that encouraged me to go with my gut, Glad I found this place!
  8. I think this is where I am Psy. He wanted a money order and that is when I got a little suspicious. I have asked him for a copy of his driver's license so we will see how he responds to that request. We are about 2 hours apart. I offered to meet FTF somewhere in the middle and he declined. He wanted to send it to my FFL instead. They only charge $25 plus the background check fee and I am good with that. Didn't know that a USPS money order would offer that kind of protection, Popeye. Appreciate that info. Bottom line is that he seems to be a little "evasive" in our correspondence so far. My gut is telling me to proceed with caution until I get more info from him.If he faxes me a copy of his driver's license as requested then I feel like I have enough info to move forward, especially if the USPS money order will further protect me. Good advice from all who have replied. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
  9. My apologies for asking such a basic question, but my FFL of choice is closed for a couple days and I want to lock down the deal I have on the Bushmaster I mentioned in another thread. I have purchased my other 2 guns directly from a dealer so this is a new wrinkle for me. When using an FFL to receive the rifle I am purchasing from a private party, does the FFL serve as a clearinghouse for the rifle and the money? The seller is about 2 hours away and doesn't want to meet face-to-face. So my question is: does the seller ship to my FFL and do I pay my money to the FFL once I inspect and accept the gun? Or do I pay the seller directly and protect myself against fraud by getting a copy of his driver's license, etc.? Thanks in advance for any insight/advice.

Your advice for first time AR15 buyer

I appreciate the input guys. Based on everything else I am seeing on Armslist, that price is too good to pass up for a solid entry level AR if I want something now. Locking it down today.

Your advice for first time AR15 buyer

AR newbie here as well and new to the Armory. Looking to pick something up primarily for target shooting and self-defense. My wife is wanting to shoot it as well, so I will probably end up purchasing a higher end AR in the future and let her have this one. I have a friend of a friend who is selling the Bushmaster Model 90391 NIB for $900. Seems like a pretty good deal given the price of everything else I am looking at. Anyone have strong reasons for or against the basic Bushy at that price? I saw a Del-ton Sierra 316 for about the same price. Anybody have experience with a Del-ton? Also looking at a PSA and a Stag Arms in that same price range ($900-1000). Thanks in advance for any input.
