  1. After I got it I have heard some upsetting stories about the Omni cracking or even failng at times. Is it difficult to change this out? I've seen some complete lowers that don't include the trigger and some that do. Is there a good quality one that has a good reputation that someone could recomend?
  2. It wasn't with the red dot, I should have been more clear. I was using a borrowed Leupold Vari X I got from a buddy of mine. Sorry to cause any confusion. I didn't mention in my current build because it's not mine. Can't quite afford one of those yet, LOL.
  3. I'm in the Cleveland area, North Royalton to be precise. I usually go to Stonewall for pistol and shot gun but I head down to Sevile to my friends house for rifle. I'm up for a shoot any time. Let me know.
  4. So after owning several firearms of different types I finally got my first AR, an ATI Omni in 5.56 with a 16" barrel. Right away I loved this platform, the polymer lower is what sold me. I knew i was going to be adding on to it so a light weight lower was important to me. So far I have added a quad rail, a UTG red dot, a Harris bipod, Magpul PRS stock (after removing the stock adjustable) 45 off set flip up front and rear sights, Magpul MOE grip and a UTG foregrip. Along the way I also picked up a few of the Maupul poly 30rnd magazines. I am very pleased with this set up so far. So far I have reached out to 300yrd at 1". What I'd like to do next is change the barrel out to something more acurate at long distance, and reduce the trigger pull to about half, right now it breaks at 5.75lbs and I'd like to be down to 3.5 or less. I'm not looking for a queen or pure bench gun, I'd like still be able to use this as a "response weapon" if needed, so I'd like to keep the barrel at 16". Like I said this is my first build and I'm having so much fun. I'm glad I found this forum and I'm looking forward to gaining as much knowledge as I can.
