So after owning several firearms of different types I finally got my first AR, an ATI Omni in 5.56 with a 16" barrel. Right away I loved this platform, the polymer lower is what sold me. I knew i was going to be adding on to it so a light weight lower was important to me. So far I have added a quad rail, a UTG red dot, a Harris bipod, Magpul PRS stock (after removing the stock adjustable) 45 off set flip up front and rear sights, Magpul MOE grip and a UTG foregrip. Along the way I also picked up a few of the Maupul poly 30rnd magazines. I am very pleased with this set up so far. So far I have reached out to 300yrd at 1". What I'd like to do next is change the barrel out to something more acurate at long distance, and reduce the trigger pull to about half, right now it breaks at 5.75lbs and I'd like to be down to 3.5 or less. I'm not looking for a queen or pure bench gun, I'd like still be able to use this as a "response weapon" if needed, so I'd like to keep the barrel at 16". Like I said this is my first build and I'm having so much fun. I'm glad I found this forum and I'm looking forward to gaining as much knowledge as I can.
