  1. Nice! That A1 clone is giving me flashbacks though.....sandfleas, long walks in the sand........!!
  2. This!! I just finished up a 450 Bush build. Lot's of fun.....and "thump!" Now I just have to find a rear sight that stays put and doesn't whack me on the forehead as it flies off every other shot!

    Primary arms

A great price. BCA themselves had them on sale for $119 a couple of weeks ago.
  4. Oh no....you're not making me spend money today. I fell for the last BCG deal from PSA!

    Where does your brass land?

I like it when they ask me to reach in there and get it out!
  6. Dang it....just too tempting....I went and ordered one! I've been wanting to do another build of some sort anyway.

    Side Charging AR15's

Yes, you're right. That upper isn't dual charging and I didn't think to go back and grab the plug when I saw that. They look to be in stock so I can order one up. Would have been a little gas to the face I imagine! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

    Side Charging AR15's

Here's the couple I did. First one is a 300 Blackout with Primary Arms red dot. The upper is Bear Creek, but I must have got the BCG elsewhere since it's NiB and I don't believe they have any NiBs. Second one is a 5.56... it's got a Bear Creek BCG for sure. I'd like to build another one in 204 Ruger, but that's a long term project. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

    Side Charging AR15's

I built a couple of side chargers, one 5.56 and one 300 BO, using Bear Creek side charger parts. I've had no problems with either. I got both sets while they were running the BCG/Upper combo sale at $125.

    .45 GAP?

Yesterday I took a trip to a gun show in a small town about 90 miles from me. While there I also stopped by the only gun shop in town and lo and behold he had 45 GAP on the shelf... Speer Gold Dot in both 185 and 200 grain loadings. Also told me that there were a couple of other guys that came in for it every once in a while and since the shop was just getting into custom ammo manufacturing he would have the capability to load batches for us if we took at least 500 rounds at a time. Guess the word of the GAP's demise hasn't made it to Alaska yet. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

    .45 GAP?

I have a Glock 37. It was an LEO trade-in that looks like it never went out in the field....no holster wear, very little wear from shooting. I initially bought it because I'm a sucker for oddball stuff like that and it fit the hole in my ever expanding Glock collection. Since my LGS had several boxes of ammo I decided to give it a try at the range and found it to be a very accurate and pleasant shooting caliber out of the 37. I have a rather small hand and find the Glock 45 ACP's to be too big to grip comfortably. I have not yet compared it side-by-side to my 1911, but want to do so here soon. The LGS says he can still get as much ammo as I want from Federal and Speer, and I also picked up the dies for it so I'm not too worried about running out anytime soon. Maybe I'll look around for a 38 and 39 now!

'Right to Bear Arms' current sale.

Toolcraft are very good. They're about all I use nowadays.
  13. Shipping to me in Alaska is only $8.50....UPS Ground. That will take about a week to reach me.
  14. I like Ergo too, although I do have a couple of Hogue.

    Aero complete uppers $49.99

At that price I had to grab one for 22 Nosler build I have in mind. I think the last one I was able to buy locally was $95.

    Old Men are dangerous

I got a pad of Post-Its by my work computer, by my home computer, on my workbench, in my car, on the nightstand.....now if I could only find a pen!

    Cabela’s RMR Sale...Again

Of course, as soon as I hit the send order button I remembered that I also have a Cabela's gift card that someone gave me for my birthday. Could have got another $50 off! Oh well, I'll save it for the next deal that comes along.

    nitride BCG for $67 shipped

I guess I don't really notice any difference in shooting performance with nitride BCG's, but when it's time to clean them I certainly do. Most of the carbon just wipes right off of the nitride whereas I will have to scrub or scrape it off of the phosphate ones. I didn't bring up the seemingly overpriced shipping on this one. Having lived in AK for almost 30 years I've seen all kinds of shipping issues like that.....if it's too out of line I just go elsewhere.

    nitride BCG for $67 shipped

This looked like a good deal until they wanted $22 to ship it to me.....supposedly by USPO. I realize I'm in Alaska, but Monmouth ships the Toolcraft nitride BCG's to me for less than $7....by the USPO and they're usually here in less than 5 days.

    Davidson Defense ARs

As low as some of their prices are, one could guess that they're cutting corners somewhere.

    Ruger Lower

Anybody built anything using one of these? I got one for a good price (~$90) a couple of months ago, but haven't done anything with it yet.

    Ruger Lower

Finished off a build with the Ruger tonight. I put it together with a Bear Creek side charging upper. The fit is really good...no gap, no rattle, nice and tight.

    Ruger Lower

Kind of my thoughts too. I haven't really seen any issues with lowers of any brand. The main difference I notice between brands is usually just with the finish.

    Davidson Defense ARs

So far, so good...everything works as it should and I can recommend them based on the little experience I've had so far. I built both of these back around the first of the year and have only really shot them to test out the function of parts I swap or change out. Seems like I always have to be fiddling with something or trying out new things on them. There's probably less than 100 rounds through either of them and neither one is dialed in yet. I'll report on the accuracy when I do that. I do want to use the Wylde for predators this coming winter so I've got to get to it.
