LOL. I see what you did there. There are definitely not any breaks there.

Thanks! I had a solid idea of what I wanted before I began, and I spent a lot of time researching every single component. Yes, I absolutely agree on the optic. The EOTech is temporary. I pulled it off of one of my AR-15 rifles, just so I could start the break-in cycle. I have been waiting for Vortex to begin shipping the new Viper PST gen II. A local vendor had one last weekend, so I may give it another month or so, to see if anyone identifies any issues.

Thanks! I spent quite a bit of time researching muzzle devices, so I could achieve that look, with a good quality/functioning muzzle device. JP offers their muzzle devices in all of the popular barrel diameters. And, they leave about 1/8" inch of material to work with, so you can get that perfect match and alignment without the use of crush washers or shims. It took a good bit of time to remove the right amount of material to get the correct timing, but I am really pleased with it.

It was recommended by a couple of different people, and the techs that I talked to at BHW. Here is what one of their techs told me "Our rifling is very forgiving and you will be able to shoot from 125 to 200 gr with the 1x9.73. We came out with a faster twist rate for 308 in anticipation of bullet changes over the next few years with lighter alloys and longer slimmer bullets. These bullets will require a faster twist rate and we feel the 1x9.73 is the future of 308 in our barrels."

Thanks for all of the compliments! I truly appreciate it. I have about 80 rounds through the barrel, so far, while trying to follow the barrel break-in procedure. The rifle has functioned flawlessly. I love it.

Just to provide an update, my BHW barrel arrived on January 20, 2017. I placed the order on December 1, 2016. 7 weeks from placing my order to arriving at my door. I am definitely please with that time, for a custom barrel. The packaging was great, and the barrel is stunning. My rifle build is pretty well complete, so I should have some feedback on the barrels performance soon. If you would like to follow my build, I have a running thread with lots of pictures... http://ar15armory.com/forums/topic/170814-f-1-firearms-308-ar-build

I didn't go with any fluting on the barrel. The rifle is already so "busy" I wanted to keep the barrel simple. I went with a semi-bull profile (.875) and a machined stainless finish. I think the bright stainless finish and simplicity of the barrel will add a nice contrast to the rest of the rifle. For the muzzle device, I went with the JP Standard-Profile Compensator JPTRE-424S. I want it to appear almost seamless to the rest of the barrel. I thought about going with the JP large profile JPTRE-5.58B.875, but I just couldn't visualize how that size would look. Barrel Specs... .308 WIN | 1X9.73 | 18" | Configurable Gas System: Mid-Length Profile - Mid-Length: Semi-Bull Finish: Machine Threading: 5/8 Fluting: None

    New 308 Build

I used the Dead On Arms pinless dust cover on my F-1 Firearms .308 receiver. It fits and functions great so far. I am really happy with it. I need to update my build thread.

Not yet. They told me there was a 2-3 month lead time for configurable barrels. They said it would probably be closer to the 2 month time frame since I didn't order fluting or a custom coating.

Thanks! It's slowly coming together. I ordered the BHW barrel, so I will probably be a couple of months out on that. I ordered an SLR Rifleworks Sentry 8 titanium, adjustable gas block. It is a really nice piece. I will add some pictures of it soon.

Update... I ordered my BHW barrel today. I talked to them earlier in the week, and for the forum discount they asked me to email sales@columbiariverarms.com and include my forum name. A couple of days later they replied with a personal discount code, that worked on the website checkout. Now I wait. Here is what I ordered... .308 WIN | 1X9.73 | 18" | Configurable Gas System: Mid-Length Profile - Mid-Length: Semi-Bull Finish: Machine Threading: 5/8 Fluting - Semi-Bull Mid-Length: None
