Hi,
I am not at all new to guns, but am new to the AR platform. I have a Ruger AR556 that is stock right out of the box. I am interested in adding either a scope (probably Nikon P223 or Bushnell) or a red-dot. My front sight is also a gas block, so I don't think I can remove it very easily. Can anyone advise me on mounting a scope or red-dot in such a way that my view isn't blocked by my front sight? Do I need to mount it higher than the front sight? I may want to mount a Nikon P223 scope with rings that allow me to mount a red-dot on top, which may put the red-dot above the above the front sight. Can someone that has more experience than me please give me some ideas on this?
Thanks in advance,
Chris
