  1. Thanks! I was originally planning on going with blue myself, but in the end red won out, as you can see. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

  3. Here's the rest of it. Parts List - Upper: Ballistics Advantage 16" government profile barrel with mid-length gas system Superlative Arms adjustable gas block STNGR HWK 16" hand guard Sharps XPB bolt carrier group in DLC Strike Industries J-Comp muzzle device Radian Raptor charging handle Strike Industries forward assist Strike Industries ejection port cover Aero Precision 30mm scope mount Primary Arms SLx6 1-6 x 24mm scope I'm not sure I like the hand stop though. It's a little too big and the red is pretty off. I've got a smaller red as well as a black one coming. I'm sure one of them will work. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk
  4. Here are a couple of pics of my first 80% Lower build. Parts List: Anderson 80% Lower Completed with 5D Tactical router jig Armaspec lower parts kit Various red trim parts from Strike Industries and Oden Works Geissele SSA-E trigger group Strike Industries MOD1 Buttstock Hopefully the rest of the parts for the upper will arrive this week. And I'm sure I don't have to tell you all that building an AR-15 is a bit of a challenge right now. Lots of critical parts are out of stock almost everywhere, but it is coming together. Slowly but surely. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk
  5. Trigger pockets are now painted. I started by assembling the second one since it turned out a little better, but had problems with it. I couldn't get the trigger to work properly with the safety selector installed. Without it installed it worked fine. I then moved all the parts over to the first lower pictured and the trigger worked fine with the safety selector installed. I finished the build with that lower. Not sure what's up with the problematic lower, but any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If I had to guess the tolerances are off slightly somewhere, and my first guess is that the hole for the safety selector switch is just slightly too low. I'll post pics of my completed 80% lower in another thread. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks for the encouragement guys.. I really appreciate it. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind for future projects. I've already purchased some Norrell's Moly Resin to use on these particular lowers though, so I hope they'll turn out okay. I'm planning on trying to spray them too. I already have an airbrush and compressor, so at least I didn't have to go to that expense as well. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk
  8. Qapla' My first 80% AR-15 lower completed. I have one more to do, and then I'll paint the insides of both at the same time. Hopefully this next weekend. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk
  9. Yes. Of course. But you'll have to fight me for it. In ceremonial battle... to the death.. I hope you've been practicing with your Bat'leth. ;-) Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks! That should do quite nicely. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk
  11. Hi All, This is my first post here, so if this subject is something that has been covered to death, please forgive me. I am planning my first AR-15 build with an Anderson black anodized 80% lower and was wondering what people have done to give the freshly milled out trigger pocket a more completed look? In other words, no longer bright aluminum but black to more or less match the black anodized finish on the rest of the receiver. I know that the whole receiver could be refinished with a coating such as Cerakote, but what I'm looking for with this first build is just a way to finish off the inside of the trigger pocket without having to refinish the whole receiver. Any suggestions or ideas you all may have will be greatly appreciated. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk
