  1. Sounds like a joke to me. Wintertime, wearing furs. It's like saying I'll wear gemstones until starvation ends.
  2. 1. reliable 2 rugged 3 easy to strip 4 doesn't look evil 5 inexpensive 6 ammo is cheap and plentiful 7 fun to shoot 8 has a bayonet 9 excellent survival rifle 10 perfect truck gun 11 doesn't violate magazine restrictions in places that have them.
  3. No different than someone saying they are Scottish, or German.
  4. I thought this was interesting. Obviously, there are numerous other restrictions, but this is magazine restrictions ( NJ may have been changed to even less): California - 10 round maximum for all magazines. Colorado - 15 round maximum for all magazines. Connecticut - 10 round maximum for all magazines. Hawaii - 10 round maximum for all pistol/handgun magazines. Illinois - Aurora 15 rounds, Chicago 12 rounds, Cook County 10 rounds, Franklin Park 16 rounds, Oak Park 10 rounds, Riverdale 35 rounds. Maryland - 10 round maximum for all magazines. Massachusetts - 10 round maximum for all magazines. New Jersey - 15 round maximum for all magazines. New York - 10 round maximum for all magazines. Washington DC - 10 round maximum for all magazines. Vermont - 10 round maximum for long gun magazines; 15 round maximum for pistol/handgun magazines.
  5. I wanted to give some props to What A Country. I got a call on Monday around 1pm and it was What A Country, calling because the address I gave them wasn't coming up properly. I guess I had mistakenly typed a SW for a SE. They wanted to make sure. I thought that was pretty decent of them, and about 30 minutes later I received the shipping confirmation.
  6. chicken, eh? Do you or do you not support Trump. You are trying to be obtuse.
  7. Remember sitting aroun on New Year's Eve, 1999, and waiting for the clock to strike midnight and the power grid to go out?
  8. You usually have to go to court and have your right to own a firearm reinstated. I've done that for people four or five times. In Florida you have to have a hearing, and the state is the other party. Each time I have done this the SA has told me they have no objection, and the judges are pro gun, so it has been no problem.
  9. It's not you, but sites like Townhall and Breitbart and the rest of the right wing sites are as guilty of repeating fake news as any of the left wing sites. It was inexcusable of Townhall not to fact check that story, and as far as I know, they have still not published a retraction. All those sites, left and right, only publish what their readers want to see. They all want to sell subscriptions, and as long as they say what their audience wants to here, they will make money.
  10. The article has now added this: CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story said the numbers were of attempted purchases. The report is of "active records" of those barred. Washington Secrets regrets the error. What this means is there are about 19,000,000 records in the database of people that will be denied if they attempt to buy a gun. Those are the records of prohibited persons that will come up in an attempted purchase. When nonsensical numbers like this appear, they should be fact checked before information is spread around.
  11. Here's what the article in the Washington Examiner said : The FBI this year has barred a record number of cases of illegal immigrants from buying guns, according to a new report of background checks. The National Instant Criminal Background Check System listed 7,836,600 “illegal/unlawful alien” as of 2018. That number has been increasing in recent years. Of those, some 3,300 were denied in fiscal year 2017. Illegal immigrants rank at the top of those on the FBI’s “prohibited category.”
  12. Ok, I don't see how this is possible. Perhaps this number is since NICS was started more than twenty years ago. Here is the FBI info on NICS checks. It says in 2018 there were 23, 638, 511 NICS checks made. link to FBI stats According to the original post, 19,000,000 were turned down. That mean that 80% of all background checks were turndowns. Does anyone believe that? Stores could not stay in business, and the justice system would be overwhelmed. The public would not stand for it. It would be huge news. So does anyone actually believe this? How could gun manufacturers sell new guns if only about 4,000,000 sales are approved. in 2013 11,000,000 guns were made, and it's been up from that. So how are these companies staying in business. That number makes no sense. I's like to see a link tothe original info, not a link to Townhall, which does not provide a link to the original report.
  13. I have tac sol barrels on my 10/22, 22/45, Buckmark. It's a marked improvement.
  14. 4 inch. I have tac sol barrels on mine too.
  15. Our tax collector processes the renewals here. (They can check your address against all sorts of databases.) Anyway, I went in to renew my permit. They did the photo right there and I had my renewal in like two minutes. It was great. Faster than a driver's license renewal.
