  1. I accompanied a friend this weekend to put some rounds down his new upper on his current setup and on the trip we ran into a constant topic of discussion. He did not have the tools to properly "open" his AR and clean from the chamber to the muzzle of the gun so he cleaned the old fashioned way from the muzzle end of the barrel. He was in the Marines and said when the situation called for it that this method was totally acceptable, and as long as he was careful and did not jam the rod into the barrel that the 20 or so rounds he fired were not enough to cause concern of contaminating the chamber of the rifle. Is there anyone who disagrees with this and have you ever cleaned your AR from the muzzle end?
