  1. Thanks for all the replies, I should have the rifle back in my hands in a couple of days so I can take a closer look.
  2. The BCG is not full auto its an ar15 bcg and I'm not sure about the buffer. Built this for a buddy and havnt got it back yet.
  3. Carbine buffer and spring that came with the stock
  4. I've actually built about 40 to 50 AR's over the past few years but I just encountered a problem I never had before. I built an M4 style carbine with a Charles Daly lower and I shot it about 15 times and the buffer jammed down in the tube and didn't want to come out. When I got it out I noticed that the back of the buffer was pounded down and mashed onto the spring. What causes this problem?
  5. The part of this that annoys me is that in spite of all of the political grandstanding and broo ha ha there is nothing in anything that they signed that would prevent anything like this from happening. My personal belief is that you cant legislate common sense and common sense is the only thing that prevents senseless violence. So the net gain from all of this is a big zero as far as school safety is concerned. As far as I can tell if you want an area to be secure you set up a perimeter and protect it. If you have a fence around a school with a guard shack and an armed guard then it would seem reasonable that you could protect that area. It would occur to me that if the intent is to protect people from mentally ill individuals that you would be looking at reforming the HIPA laws and not gun laws. As an interesting side note I was just reading an article that pointed out that all of the shooters at all of these mass killings were registered Democrats or raised in liberal families and that the conservative gun owners that seem to be under attack for these crimes really had nothing to do with any of them.

  7. The things that are not mentioned or addressed are ...What are the plans for all of the weapons and magazines that are already in circulation? If there is a ban will it be on ownership or manufacturing? Will it be illegal to own or just to obtain new magazines that are over 10 rounds? As anyone here probably knows already is that the last ban was only effective at raising the value of all the weapons we already owned. Actually I don't even remember this mass shooting phenom existing back then. I think that it has been perpetuated by the large amount of media coverage. Any actual plan to come and confiscate our weapons could be pretty disasterous and making them illegal just criminalizes regular law abiding citizens. If your already a criminal by default then why should you care about any laws anymore?
  8. If you both live in the same state you dont even have to transfer it.
  9. I picked up a 150 new GI mags at a flea market this summer for $3.65 each.I think I only have one Pmag. I was at the gun shop today and they were selling them for $12.50 but there were only a few left.
  10. I hit about 5 of my local shops today and picked up 8 stripped lowers and a couple thousand rounds of .223. Everywhere was packed and the black gun junk was flying out the doors.Almost all of the .223 and 7.62 was gone.Almost all of the hi-cap mags were gone I got plenty of ar's and ak's so if they do another ban it just makes them worth more. If they start trying to confiscate it will just start a sh*tstorm of epic proportions. It will make criminals out of us law abiding citizens. At least we know when uncle o-bam washes out as being the worst president he can always get a job at Dicks sporting goods selling guns, he's pretty darn good at that.
  11. I have the 50 beowulf and the 450 Bushmaster and the thing that stands out the most to me is that you can buy the 450 Bushmaster at most sporting goods stores or gun shops but the 50 beowulf is sometimes very hard to get.
  12. Yeah,I do know they only go in one way.I dont even think they will start in backwards. These will drive in 1/4 inch and I can stick a punch in the back of the hole so there is no obstruction to keep it from going other than the pin is too large.I have 10 or 12 taper pins out of various FSP but none will go.
  13. I was just getting ready to install a front sight post on a little carbine I'm building and the taper pins dont want to drive into the holes.I was just wondering if all front sight post had taper pins or did some have roll pins.If they did use roll pins does anyone know the size? Thanks in advance
  14. I was out at Knob Creek this weekend and DSA had those uppers on display. They didnt look bad at all. They also sold me some BCG's for $100 and charging handles for $14.That brings you in at around $400. There were actually some complete CMMG uppers there for $375 also.
  15. Put me down for a dozen of those.
