  1. Hi, I recently bought a new Knights SR15 non Ambi stripped Lower through Brownells. I wanted to complete it with a DPMS Lower Parts Kit. I noticed that the holes of the trigger pins and the takedown pins are slightly larger. The hole for the Bolt Catch Roll Pin is also too big - the pin does not hold. The lower is made according to the TDP standard. Does anyone know which lower parts I have to install?
  2. So I finally picked up a lower and because it is election year people are buying them like crazy. The only lower available was a spikes zombie. I do not like the badging and was going to fill it. My rough process was going to be: Strip the anodize Fill the roll marks with JB Weld Sand flush Cerakote I tried to search for the info but only found stuff for manufacturers. I know the S/N must be left alone. Any other markings I need to leave on? I was going to fill everything except the S/N. This is my first build and if anyone has a better fill method that does not require special gear, I am all ears. If it turns out ugly because of the JB Weld, that will be the lesson I learn and will go with an 80% lower next build, once I get the equipment to do an 80%. Thanks in advance.
  3. Thank you Bravo Company for providing the highest quality upper recievers on the PLANET!!!! I had a HORRIBLE experience with this place called joebob outfitters and I found bravo company and I need nobody else! its so great to just fill your cart up with everything you need one one web site and pay shipping once and recieve everythng at once for a build! Please stay away from this joebob outfitters they have absolutley horrible customer service and act like they are the FBI or ATF they make you answer a million very very personal questions when you order from them its INSANE they made me so incomfortable I just said nevermind and got the heck outta there these people are SKETCHY they might have what appears to be a lil lower prices on certain items but almost 100% of the time those discounted items are flawed, blemished or returned items its almost like they deal strictly in second hand equipment but you dont find out till you have the package and its too late then you have to pay return shipping and a 20% restocking fee, their VP was extremely rude to me, check their google reviews if you dont take my word for it or think that its an isolated incident please look for your self do not shop at joebob outfitters please. BCM is AWESOME! cheers!
  4. Hello everyone, I'm new to the community, I've been looking through the forum for a while and decided to register. I'm currently facing a bit of a debacle and would like to ask the opinion of the forum, or rather ask for facts. I'm looking at a custom build and have run into something I'm concerned about, I want my AR to be light weight, however i've noticed a lot of LW uppers get rid of the dust cover and the forward assist (I'm assuming to trim weight), these are two features which i would like to keep. I'm thinking of going with a LW lower receiver and a standard upper receiver, will this work? I'm worried that the difference in materials will cause the upper and lower to destroy each other, due to the upper being a harder material than the lower. So far I'm looking at this for my build: Lower Receiver: Battle Arms Development (BAD556-LW Lower Receiver 7075-T6) http://www.battlearmsdevelopment.com/bad556-lw-lightweight-7075-t6-billet-lower-receiver Spike's Tactical LPK: Enhanced w/out FCG http://www.spikestactical.com/lower-parts-kit-enhanced-black-without-fctrigger-group-p-1239.html FCG: TR-Enabling Nickel-Teflon http://www.tr-enabling.com/product-p/0000ntfcg.htm Buffer Tube: I really have no clue on this...any suggestions? Upper: Spike's Tactical Gen II - BAR2 Barrel Nut http://www.spikestactical.com/billetupper-gen-ii-bar2-barrel-nut-p-1130.html The rest of the upper I'm not sure about as I don't even know if the Spike's upper will work on the LW lower i've chosen. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  5. First of all, I want to say thank to everyone who is willing to help us newbies get educated in the world of AR rifles. I, for one, find this thread to be invaluably insightful and am truly appreciative of all the advice. All you readers of this post have undoubtedly forgotten more than I will ever learn about ARs, and I feel fortunate to benefit from a fraction of your experience and knowledge. So, here's where I stand. I just bought an Anderson stripped lower and a PSA MOE QMA lower parts kit. I want to build an economical tactical style AR. Please keep in mind that I have absolutely no knowledge apart from some online research. I am doing this because I've been interested for awhile and Uncle Sam says I can, for now. I was thinking about getting a PSA fully assembled upper, but I would really like to have a MI Gen 2 SS free float hand guard. And, I've decided on a gas platform. Basically, if I were to assemble my own upper receiver and barrel (not penciled), I don't know which would accommodate the Midwest rail to keep me within a relatively affordable range. Additionally, I don't know anything about BCGs or charging handles, except that I would need them and better quality is preferable. Anyways, I think that will get me a good start. Please refrain from making derogatory comments on the Anderson lower, if you are so inclined. It's been purchased, it's in my possession, and it's being used, so that's that. I'm just excited to get started on this project and am looking forward to your suggestions.
  6. Finally completed my lower assembly!

  8. Does anyone have experience with Core 15?? I have a LMT Defender lower with a double stage trigger. I am thinking about getting a Core 15 M4 complete upper for my LMT lower. The specs are right and the price is right. I am just not sure about the brand. Core 15 has a lifetime warrenty but I don't know if its worth getting. Keep in mind uppers are still very hard to find and I've only seen a CMMG for 200 more. Thanks guys!!!
