I have wanted an Bushmaster AR15 since I was 12, I'm 48 now. I bought a used one on GunBroker for $540. I've done enough research to know it's a 2004 Bushmaster XM15 E2S. The lower receiver, collapsible stock, and barrel all have Bushmaster markings of some kind, but the fixed upper receiver has a mark near the peep sight adjustment that looks like a broken capital A. So did I but a pieced together junk rifle or a full Bushmaster?

Hello everyone, I'm new to the community, I've been looking through the forum for a while and decided to register. I'm currently facing a bit of a debacle and would like to ask the opinion of the forum, or rather ask for facts. I'm looking at a custom build and have run into something I'm concerned about, I want my AR to be light weight, however i've noticed a lot of LW uppers get rid of the dust cover and the forward assist (I'm assuming to trim weight), these are two features which i would like to keep. I'm thinking of going with a LW lower receiver and a standard upper receiver, will this work? I'm worried that the difference in materials will cause the upper and lower to destroy each other, due to the upper being a harder material than the lower. So far I'm looking at this for my build: Lower Receiver: Battle Arms Development (BAD556-LW Lower Receiver 7075-T6) http://www.battlearmsdevelopment.com/bad556-lw-lightweight-7075-t6-billet-lower-receiver Spike's Tactical LPK: Enhanced w/out FCG http://www.spikestactical.com/lower-parts-kit-enhanced-black-without-fctrigger-group-p-1239.html FCG: TR-Enabling Nickel-Teflon http://www.tr-enabling.com/product-p/0000ntfcg.htm Buffer Tube: I really have no clue on this...any suggestions? Upper: Spike's Tactical Gen II - BAR2 Barrel Nut http://www.spikestactical.com/billetupper-gen-ii-bar2-barrel-nut-p-1130.html The rest of the upper I'm not sure about as I don't even know if the Spike's upper will work on the LW lower i've chosen. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

So I finally decided to buy an 80%er. The only place I could find that had them ready to ship was http://www.80percentar.com/ I was weary cause from what I could find out it is a relatively new company (I shared this info in the new products section). I measured it all out though and It is mil-spec and seems to be good quality. I want to know if anyone knows of a good video tutorial that shows how to finish one off cleanly? All the ones I found show sloppy jobs of machining. Any advice or links would be appreciated.
