Gmountain
Yep, the legislature passed the bill and sent it to the Governor. Allow green card holders to serve on juries. Illegals wouldn't be eligible (yet). Let's have juries that don't understand our system of government, have nothing vested in this country, and can't vote. Not yet anyway. California is one screwed up place.

muzlblast
Really depressing as it really is a beautiful state. The stupid liberal politics there though never cease to amaze me. Oh well, I've still got to visit family out there for thanksgiving. Sigh...
Memphiscbrider
Haha. Remind me to never go through California and get arrested then. Even though I won't be going there anytime soon anyways
redbarron06
A jury of peers, would that not require citizenship?
MontanaLon
Well that will blow up in their faces. Consider the following situation. A man accused of rape gets his lawyer to empanel a jury with a member who is a green card carrying muslim from Saudi Arabia or some ass backwards country. He will apply the law of his own country which says 4 men must testify to the rape of a woman. Hung Jury. Have a nice day.

Smokin' Iron
Why not? They probably make up the majority in Kalifornia anyway. Anything in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia is for sale by politicians. Either for money or political power.

Retcop
The only reason things like this are possible is because we are living in a post-constitutional America. We must become active at our local and State levels to stop these sort of things. Without a grass roots mobilization, we will continue to have statist elites and a handful of people in black robes denying the will of the people. Where do you get this "will of the people" crap from? The will of the people doesnt mean squat. What matters is the will of people in black robes.
