I finally got mine finished, and was able to spend some quality time at the range with her. Accuracy with 8208, H4895 with80 grain bullets was a disappointing at an average of all groups of 1.7". 90 grain loads were a little better at 1.4". I will do some more work with the 90 and 100 grain bullets next week.

You're at the top end weight wise. I would load them as long as I could. The barrels like to run at published MAX and a tad over in many cases. What data are you using? My best bullet in the heavier ones is the Hornady 87 BTHP. It has shot in all four of mine.

Nicely done!!!

A left hand side charging AR with a piston gas system... Yup, well done indeed!

Can we get a little more info on what manufacturers were used for this build?

Addax gave me a lil advice on building an upper for pushing accuracy some time ago, GPU isn't the way to go, harmonics are affected further in GPU than DGI

That's 100% correct. The accuracy just won't be there fir GPU.

The rifle is built up as:

American Spirit Arms side charging upper

Adams Arms rifle length piston system

Geissele SSA-E trigger

Samson Evolution rail

Black Hole 1 in 10 6x45 barrel

I am using the data from the PDF file. I was trying to stay away from the compressed loads in order to get more consistent velocities. I never have great luck with loads that compress much in other calibers. I am loading up to max for the 2.26 loads in the PDF.

Thank you for the info.

Again, nice build.

My 18" 6x45 BHW barrel is a 1 in 9 twist. But I don't plan to shoot any projectiles above 85/87 grains.

I have been using the PDF file as a reference also. IMR/Hodgdon has 6X45 load data also.

For the Seirra 85 gr. HPBT Game King's I have been load testing I am using a slower powder. CFE 223

Still need to finish load testing but it looks promising.

This is six rounds at 100 yards, 1.095" spread center to center.

The operator here needs to work on his shooting discipline. :tap:

Unfortunately there is very little load data for this caliber using CFE 223. So if you try it, work your loads up.

Sweet. It's going to be interesting to see how she improves as more rounds season that barrel. Nice shooting. Good looking side charger you've got there, too.

You'll find these don't season. Feed them the right load and they'll scream from the first five shots. It is truly amazing how well they do and the minimal fouling.
