Kar98az mauser carbine from spanish civil war for sale *sold to bentwrench*

Recommended Posts

This rifle is a very interesting piece with a amazing story unfortunately we will never hear. It is in a beautiful tiger striped stock that is in great condition for its age. The metal is in just as great shape as well. It is unknown when this rifle was actually made as it has been "scrubbed" of all markings. This may sound odd, but this was done during the Spanish Civil war to conceal who was supplying the arms to the people. The K98 stamp on the side rail as well as the dog bone sling attachment indicates that the rifle came from the Poland government. I had originaly though the patch in the but stock was to repair damage from a gun shot from a small entrance and splintered exit, but after doing some research it appears that it may have started life as a super rare German Kar98 and the plug was put there when the removed the through stock sling attachment to go with the polish dog bone attachment. The early k98 Poland received were built in Germany and may also be kar98 re-arsenals. Ultimately this rifle is from the period of 1925-30. If you guys have any info on these i would greatly appreciate and i will not be offended by corrections!!!

I'm fighting the urge..........

it is hard to pass over a beutiful tiger striped stock I know. I will owe my partner for the rest of my life if I keep adding guns he brings up to my collection. I have to watch what I say as in guns on my wishlist or the damn thing will miraculously show up the next day.

oh come on, these are some of the rarest mausers you can get your hands on!! 98k are still farely anundent but karabiners when found polish or german are usually in very bad shape as the almost all seen heavy action.
