MontanaLon Posted February 8, 2017 Author Share Posted February 8, 2017 Soft shell crab was one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten when we were on Hilton Head. But it was cooked. It was strange eating the whole thing when you are conditioned to crack crab legs or pull the meat out of a lobster. The wife and I are going to figure out when the height of the season is, and go back just for the crabs. (One of these days...) Soft shell crab is good. I could honestly eat Blue Crab daily. When I was a kid we used to go crabbing at Pax river. Being off limits to civilians the crab used to grow large and plentiful. We would crab and fish all day from the old carrier pier and eat crab until the wee hours with the guys my Dad worked with. I swear I left that pier weighing 20% more than I arrived. Just kidding, I've been to Japan and China ten times and just never developed a taste for it. The texture just doesn't sit well with me. I've eaten some strange crap over there though.
