Springfield Armory xD9 break in period?

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased an xD9 and have noticed that it's incredibly inaccurate, my question is if there is a break in period for new handguns. This is the first polymer pistol that I've ever bought, not shot, but still wanted to inquire why I can't hit a damn thing with it. I've shot countless Glocks, xD's, Beretta's, etc, without any issue. So what's the deal with this new firearm, does it require a break in period? I've already ran about 300 rounds of FMJ through it and have probably hit my mark about 50 times! What do you guys think?

I'd call customer service and ask them what to do. Springfield has one of the best support departments in the biz.

I've been reading up on the subject and apparently the XD9 utilizes a 6 o'clock sight picture, something that I'm not too familiar with. Thanks for the advice, I'll probably give them a call tomorrow!
