RAS47 for $549 plus a rebate

I like mine. Works fine. The guys at AK47.net hate them, but I know a lot of people that have them and they work just fine.

Most from the hate comes from the fact that they use cast trunnions and there are a bunch of documented failures, however lots of other people do not have trouble with them.

Actually, there were a few failures, but those are repeated over and over again.

I have seen more than a few over on reddit.com/r/ak47

Those are just the first few that came up. However, there are several others that have not had any trouble after 1000rds or so. Even with the sale going on, I would hard pass on a RAS47, and wait for the WASR10's to come down in price or perhaps look at a gen2 PSA rifle. The RAS47 might not be unsafe to shoot like the IOs, but there are better options out there.

The I.O. M247-C is the one I wrote down a long time ago. After I get pretty much every other gun I want, I'll eventually get one. Maybe.

The I.O. isn't the best either, but it seemed like a good deal for a rifle I'll shoot only occasionally and will never be at the front of the safe.

PSA now offers AK47s with a billet block (Front trunnion) and all Magpul AK 47 furniture. On sale today for $599.00. If I was going to buy another AK-47 I would buy this. It also has a Melonited barrel.

gshayd,

I'm betting that's a pretty nice rifle for the money, but it's about as far from a "traditional" ak47 as you can get.

Personally, the only reason I want one is to get one with wood furniture to get that classic look.

I wonder if anyone buys ones like that as their first and only AK47.

I would buy that one over one with wood furniture. And yes there are guys that have an ak without wood furniture , and a collapsible stock as their only ak

I was thinking of selling mine (I think that's what I have) not because it's bad, but because I don't shoot it much, only two magazines in about a Year. But I was gong to sell mine (with ammo) for 500. To fund a new pistol or my Grendel project. Mine shoots great though. I mean it's amazingly accurate, but if rather put money somewhere else.
