Anybody remember the OPM hack a couple years back? EVERY person with security clearance had their info harvested by the Chinese, among others.

If you think for one second that there will be any security on the data collected that is up to the same level as the fed OPM database, you're delusional.

If this doesn't give you nightmares about identity theft issues, you're goofy in the head.

This takes a system that is... poorly.. functioning to begin with, and then dumps everything it would take for anybody to become you all in 1 place, INCLUDING scanned copies of your documents all set for somebody to print out when they steal the data. Since it is a database it can be sorted by name, address, SSN, birth date; any of that. This is a really bad idea for personal data security.

The illusion is control and the security is a scam ! A far better method is the Israeli method PROFILE OUTSIDE THE AIRPORT and escort them into a detonation chamber ,then flood it with every known frequency and band width !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Wildwood weed by Jim Stafford.

:winner:

Thanks for the info.

I could not for the life of me remember who did that song.

After remembering the lyrics, and having the answer on the tip of my brain,

I was driving myself nuts.

Sneaky, huh ? :)

So are they shutting down all airports in those states since nobody from there can use them?

Nah, This has been going on for since Obama. This isn't a Trump thing. The only thing Trump about it is they are adding MORE states to the list.

All it means is average Joe from those states has to get a passport if he wants to fly because his state drivers license is worthless as tits on a nun when it comes to a security check.

This happened about the same time or shortly after we started needing passports to go to Canada and Mexico. I've heard rumblings things keep getting terrorist pissy in Europe, they're thinking of going back to Visa's to enter from some countries in Europe even.

When it comes to flying, its a simple as either know who is getting on the planes or strip search everyone who gets on a plane so this is a double edged sword. The tighter they do the ID thing the slacker they can the TSA thing. We've already now have the TSA quick pass where frequent flyers don't have as long a lines or need to go through as much security measure.

That said, the whole damn thing is a friggen joke if you don't use the information you have. They still pay as much attention if not more to the blond lady with the big tits as they do 24 year old Mohammed in his Arab garb. In fact, most of the time Mohammed gets a wave and blondy gets the body scan. The libtard PC crap invades everything we do and ironically we are about the only country it does when it comes to airport security. I travel often with an Arab male. He gets the fast everything US. Europe, especially eastern Europe, he gets special handling every time.

Anyway, you want to fly from those states, you get a passport. Not from the USA, you fly on your countries passport which brings up this whole undocumented liberal lie too. Most illegals are documented. They're documented in the country they are from. This entire story the left sells that illegal aliens are all Pepe's riding mules that baby junior was born in a barn is a bold face lie. The vast majority have ID. Its just ID from their country.

Spend a few hours in an airport and just listen to people sometimes. It'll blow you away how many Hispanics and whatevers are there talking about carpeting their house in this US city or whatever standing there with a passport from Mexico or wherever.

Yep. I got a thing from uncle sugar providing me with 2 years of identity theft protection. Reckon it's close to running out. Here's an example of the "form" notification I receive now and then.

Funny how I have never been hit with anything before the hack then a few months ago someone in Houston attempted to rent a limo for 785.00 or something with my Visa. They might get my money but thanks to the government, I'm still me. I think.

I live in a state that refused to comply with the real ID law and is going to have issues with flying. Our lawmakers decided they didn't trust the Federal govt enough to send the information requested by the federal govt under the realID law. They decided based on this, that they would not modify our DL requirements or reporting to the Fed Govt the contents of their records.

I agree with my law makers.

When did the Fed gov't become the all powerful entity that can stop me from travelling? I don't think the Constitution lists 'being able to limit my travel' or 'prohibit my commerce with private organizations' as a power of the federal government. The 10th Amendment should stop this nonsense.

That's fine then, just get a passport.

I really don't see how anyone doesn't have one really. Its pretty darn easy to come up with a 1,000 I didn't plan on it to travel outside the US let alone the vacation of a lifetime deal that then you have to scramble like hell to get a passport hoping the US Government does a good job and doesn't screw up your vacation. One thing being the Army did for me at a very young age is to not expect the US Government to do a good job on anything.

Now a couple comments on ID's. If you have a "I'm am who I am" Popeye attitude, you don't give a shat who knows who you are or where you live. Unless your state is so backward they still put social security numbers on your drivers license, talk about identity theft issues, a drivers license is or for that matter a passport is no more sensitive than the old phone books. I don't have an unlisted phone number either. I'm easy to find and if needs be will eat my can of spinach.

Next, the more valid ID's you have traveling the better. I carry three, drivers license, gun permit, and passport when I travel and every chance I get, I don't carry all three in the same location. A lost bag, a porter keeps your license and you are too busy to notice, a store clerk keeps on, a lost billfold, and you can get on a plane still but don't plan on making your original flight. Been there and done that. In cities, I keep one ID at the hotel, actually learned overseas to appreciate hotels hanging on to your passport till you pay the bill, in unknown areas I put cash, one credit card, and one form of ID in my pants pocket leaving the rest in the hotel, even walking in an airport one form of ID is separate from the others.

Until we are all in some massive database of face recognition, finger prints, DNA, etc., who you are is a big deal and actually being Popeye the best of all worlds because Popeye doesn't have anything to hide and is easy to verify who he is.

I use to care about this stuff but that ended the day I got out of the Army when that LT due to the privacy act just having passed handed me that four inch folder that was my FBI file. I can't imagine if you printed it out now how big it is now. They had interviews in there with my neighbors and even my school teachers. At first it was scary like "OMG, I'm on some list." It developed to "Hell yes I'm some list count me down MFer". I'm in the NRA, own guns, have a CCW, vote, pay taxes, educated, have a family, never been on the wrong side of bars, took care of a family, and I am who I am. If someone has a problem with that, then they are the problem. If those afraid of lists had an inkling how many times every day they are video taped or the mere fact every cell phone conversation they make is recorded somewhere including where that cell phone was at what time, they'd freak.

If the mysterious, they, are coming after me, man, you all are so screwed. We're all so screwed. If "They" come after me, its time to eat the can of spinach and go Popeye on their ass.

One of these days I need to get a passport...has a red one years ago think it was and never officially used it, we were on orders, not using the passport and it never got stamped....trying to leave with a passport that was not stamped when entering.....or trying to use it at a hotel....all proved problematic......

Anywhoo, guess we should get passports so the wife can go home....and I "could" go with her, I'll drive but hate flying and it's stupid expensive to fly to Canada vs driving....but so much faster.....

Ugh......

VA card is not a ID card, it's a card that shows your enrolled in the VA socialistic health system, but it's also not a insurance card either. It's so the MSA can scan it and pulls up your information so they can identify you and what your qualified for & all that.....

Many many vets get pissed off when they find out it's not a legal form of ID and not a insurance card they can show to a Doctors office and have them bill the VA.....

My VA has a picture on it.... it is a VHIC which is considered as a federal issued photo ID card. " VHICs are also being used to access U.S. military bases and in some cases, allows access through U.S. airport security. " It will work for tht because I have used it at the airport :p for grins and giggles.

Read what you linked to,

The VHIC is issued only to Veterans who are enrolled in the VA health care system.

Purpose of the VHIC

The VHIC is for identification and check-in at VA appointments. It cannot be used as a credit card or an insurance card, and it does not authorize or pay for care at non-VA facilities.

It's not a ID card and not to be used outside the VA Hospital system and doing so it can be confiscated.

It is NOT legally considered a federal ID issued ID card. and NO, you CAN NOT access any military installation with them, that is totally illegal. They do not scan for DBIDS and are not in the DEERS system. If your 100% disables and not retired you will be issues a DD Form 1173 or 2765

The ONLY legal form of ID for a military member or former military member to access a military installation is the CAC, DD form 2, DD Form 1173. 1173-1 & DD 2765. Otherwise you MUST be escorted on by somebody with one of the listed credentials......

If you get caught by somebody at the airport who knows the rules and regulations they can legally confiscate it from you right then and there. But we all know the TSA is not exactly smart....

But what do I know......
