Congressman Hudson’s Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill Passes

It passed a committee, nothing to get worked up about. It has a long way to go.

I believe even if it passes the House, the elites in the Senate Boy's club will kill it.

Time to fire up the phone calls and emails, and keep it going until we get the right resolution.

The democrats in the senate have already said it was a “dirty trick” to put it into the NICS fix bill and republican leadership has said that it is a good way to get both parts of it killed.

Our idiot republicans should get a clean reciprocity bill up for a vote,

and they can dicker about putting mental health history in the NICS until everyone forgets about it, as far as I'm concerned.

Morons.

The "Fix" bill needs to die. It's seriously flawed.

The dirty trick was to bundle a good bill (reciprocity) with a rotten one.

This way the Rs can blame the Ds. Business as usual.

Why is it that simple common sense bills such as this have such a hard time being passed yet totally insane ones seem to sail right through?

Because the crooked politician's agenda, take precedence of the people's agenda.

Because the crooked politician's agenda, take precedence of the people's agenda.

Exactly!

Few people seem to understand that the "donor class" once elected into office are people who will never have to experience the full effects of the legislation they pass upon the masses. This means that even elected politicians who at heart are sincere conservatives in their belief in the COTUS and freedom in general are highly susceptible to the influences of the Utopian Progressives and their agenda. At the end of the day even Donald Trump won't part with his money or power for the sake of benefit of John/Jane Q. Public. They will all, Republicans as well, throw us under the bus so damn fast itll make your head spin if it comes to choosing between our freedom and their wealth/power. Especially when anything they make us give up they won't have to give up themselves.

I'll put it to you like this: Let's say hypothetically they repealed the 2A. Do you think the people that live behind security barriers with private armies of mercs, travel in limos and on private jets, spend more money in an hour than half of us make in a year won't be able to get guns if they want them?

This is already lost. The infrastructure for a total police state is already in place. All someone need do is turn it up to full power. They use it now but only against targets of interest. With the level of surveillance we live under at any time any one of us, even those who have never committed a crime worse than speeding can be dragged away and charged with a capitol crime. They can and will manipulate data to make you look guilty enough for a jury for almost anything g they want to hang on you.

These people are cunning, patient and have been working on this for over 100 years. We WILL loose our freedom in America. We WILL see the dissolution of the COTUS, the 2A, all of it. There will be hard tyranny in America. It's inevitable and at this point we can't stop it. We are deep into the Apathy stage of the Tytler Cycle and that's historically when the powers that be make their big moves.

What we DO have going for us that can't be determined by history IS the 2A, and the fact that so many of us are committed to standing up against any/all that would deprive us from our freedom. At no time ever has a scenario like this ever existed, so all of your doom-saying is pretty much based on irrelevancy.

Will the powers at be try? Most certainly! Will they succeed? Not likely! The price to be paid for their attempt will likely be their lives.

JMHO, and worth at least as much as yours.

I salute your enthusiasm and respect your point. That being said how many gun owners out of 10 will actively wage war against the government regardless of how tyrannical it gets? Especially those with families and things more important to them than even their freedom at stake? You overestimate the willingness of the average gun owner to become an enemy of the state and commit to being on the run likely for the rest of their natural lives living in remote camps under the constant threat of attack..

Talk is cheap. I'd say less than 1 in 50 gun owners even understand what the 2A is actually about let alone be willing to risk arrest, harm to their families and being labeled a terrorist to fight against a police state. Oh there will be some, slowly they will gain momentum, organize and after a long period of underground revolt they may even win out to regain freedom in the end. But you are convincing yourself of a fallacy if you truly believe that all at once, we'll collectively stand up, arm up and say enough is enough. This isn't 1777. You won't be fighting Redcoats with muskets. They have drones, helicopters, militarized police, armored vehicles, firepower that can and will decimate resistance groups from 20 miles away from their CiC site. They already know where you are and what you have in your gun safe.

I'll fight, you can damn well be sure of that. I'll head for the deep mountains and hopefully join up with a resistance cell if it comes to that before I'm too old to hold a rifle, but that being said I have no illusions about how this is going to go down. There is 95% chance I'll not live long past putting on my kit and heading into the back country.

You see my friend they arn't going to do this overnight. It's going to be done slowly and methodically. They are chipping away at freedom so subtlety most don't even realize that we already live in a state of soft tyranny. These people are more patient than you realize. They are already very successfully programming the millennial to be anti-gun, anti-freedom supporters of big govern and a caste system they don't comprehend. These people control the schools, the money and have support from all over the planet. They arn't even hiding it anymore. They are pulling this crap in plain sight and it's working.

This. I too have to agree here. As much as I'd like for the common man to stand up I just don't see that many answering the call. But, I also beleive it can be done. As I said in another thread. There has to be hope. Otherwise we've already lost.

And like another member (Hulka?) I just deleted a whole lot of what I want to say. But discretion won.

Yet, at the same time we have been at war for the last 16yrs, and waging it with the highest enlistment and re-enlistment numbers in history, all w/o a draft (all volunteers). We have two generations of warriors that know exactly what means, methodology, and equipment we will be up against.

And that's just the government trained soldiers. There are a whole lot of others who have trained to fight, and know how to fight with whatever they have to fight with.

I may be overly optimistic, but I think that you're overly pessimistic when it comes to what we the people will be willing to do if it comes down to it. And our patience with political shenanigans is wearing mighty thin, meaning that their incremental approach may well not have the time needed to dismantle our effective militia and it's armory before their house of cards blows up.

It really is sad. The fact is full on freedom and Constitutional liberty we all love has been gone for decades. It's now only a matter of time before the last of it is gone altogether. They are extending their lives with breakthrough genetic therapies none of us could ever afford while we grow old and age out talking about our love of guns, freedom, the glory days and a flag the powers that be haven't cared about or respected for a long long time. They'll just sit back and watch us rot then once the next generation has been adequately programmed to beg for their freedom to be officially taken from them there won't be a single shot fired. In fact, they'll cheer it on in the aftermath of demanding that it be taken away.

Historically, freedom has been rarely taken away from the masses as a result of battle. It's been taken away by demand of the people who enjoyed it.

This article: Democracy's Road to Tyranny, is a very well written explanation of the Tytler Cycle of Democracy. While the TC is not named in the piece it defines it well nevertheless. Our nation being a "Representative Republic" vs. a true Democracy does not bare relevancy here as one half of our legislative branch has openly rejected the tenets of our Republican ideals and embraced socialism. When they control the bulk of the money and global economic power the battle is already lost.
