The car is ready for this weekend.

Recommended Posts

We got the car put back together for this weekend and next weekend. Going to the Arizona Nationals and running in a class called Top Sportsman. We are not going to run the nitrous, only on motor alone. Going to be easy on the motor and not push it. Should run in the six second range.

Dang man! What kind of power does it take to run in the 6's, and how much rubber does it take to hook that power to the ground?

That sir, is a piece of art. A mechanic that can assemble that into a running machine is truly an artist.

That motor has 1800 HP with no nitrous. It depends on the weight of the car to HP on getting the car in the 6's. Plus if the frame can handle that much horsepower. One of my friend's car has 1500 HP and on a good day he will crack in the 6's. His car weighs in at 2200 pounds with the driver. My car has to weigh in at 2450 pounds. If I did not have the nitrous on it, it could weigh in at 2200 pounds. Another friend car has a procharger on it and it has to weigh in at 2600 pounds. He runs in the 6's and has about 2200 HP. He cannot come off the line as hard as us. His car would twist the frame bad on launch. He comes on at the top end.

Our tires are 17" wide and 34.5 X 16.

When I am up there with the car. I do not have time to video the car.

You can go onto NHRA website and on there there is something called All Access. If you are a member and pay a fee, you can watch every run that people do.

Surely someone on the team has videoed something before?? No one in the stands shoots some video for you?

Nobody to video the car for me. The only one not doing anything is the wife. You do not see her videos. What the heck is that white spot. You need to zoom in on it.

All Access eh, would we be able to figure out about when your going to make a run?

Wonder if I could access it from the X Box and play it on the TV, never tried doing that before.......but for $17 to see all the action.....
