When DID they start playing the anthem at games? It's not something I ever heard in high school or college. In fact, the only pro sport I remember playing the anthem was the NHL, because they played the US anthem and the Canadian anthem.

I don't know but in the 70's they played it before all of the High School football games in Shreveport.

Wrong! At EVERY high school football game, every baseball game, every softball game, every basketball game, and the first game of the day at every little league park it's played. Always!

We always played it at high school football games, I was on the color guard that presenting the colors.

 

We also did colors for the Atlanta Hawks and Falcons from time to time.
