I've been known to do a little fishing, primarily surf/wade fishing, but also running baits via kayak for land based sharking.

Chile, man that's some great fishing. How long of a fight on that big hammer, any idea on the weight?

I just seen on your photo bucket that it was 137". Very cool.

Yep, 137" or 11' 5", and approx 550-600#.

Fight lasted about 45 min.

Wow, those are some huge fish. Nice job Chile. What kind of catfish is that your son is holding? never seen one like that.

Thanks, those definitely look different from those here.

Yeah, they're different looking.

Also, if you ever catch one, be very wary of their dorsal/pectoral spines as they're worse than most cats for pain if ya get spined.

 

There are two types of Saltwater catfish down here, the Gafftop & the Hardhead.
