We can do everything possible to help the newly elected government and the resistance, but I would not support one single boot on the ground. I understand we can not and should not let Russia or China gain a foothold in the region but I couldn't support putting our boys there. tommag
Funny you should post this. I just read that from drudge a few minutes ago. Given how quickly Venezuela has fallen, I do believe that if the citizens of Venezuela were to "find" an adequate supply of munitions they would turn things around rather quickly. If a few generations were to pass, hopelessness sets in, but everyone there has seen the change and would be motivated enough to have a chance.

With a population of 32,650,000, let us assume a fighting age population of 10,000,000. With a price of 400 per carbine and 200 for 1,000 rounds, that works out to 6 billion dollars. Given a U.S. population of 300,000,000, and roughly 1/2 of us thinking right, that works out to $40 each. I'm in!
Lylelovett666
Enough. Let these people sort out their own problems.
Flesh Wound
No I would not support a US Venezuela war. If the folks there will not take care of business themselves we certainly have no business there. Although a liberal seeding of the country with small arms would be something I'd support.

MontanaLon
There really isn't a need for "boots on the ground" war there. If the military is propping up the ex president then we need to make the ex president disappear and knock the military on it's ass. It wouldn't be that difficult. A couple of subs, B-52's, B-1's and B-2's with cruise missiles and the military there ceases to be a threat. Declare a no fly zone and then knock down everything they put into the air. They can of course run rough shod all over the unarmed population but that isn't a reason to put Americans in harms way. Arm the people and let them duke it out with the military working without any crew served weapons and the fight will be short. Let their military fight an insurgency and they will be worn down quickly. Much like the USA, the Venezuelan military has families they don't want to see harmed. A good many of them will walk away if there is a threat to their families. Venezuela is going to be a shat mess for a while. Even more than it is now. But they voted for it, they need to suck it up and take the lumps getting their country back.

bj139
We could send them a little "foreign aid". Logistics would sure be better than in our other wars.

bamashooter
Probably already in-country training resistance. I'd provide green beenies, hardware, etc for the situation. That is an area more or less now being run by the Cubans via Russia w/ cocktails being served by China. Their ass needs to hit the road by whatever means necessary. An actual "war" with Venezuela is absurd and will never happen. It's foolish to even speculate on such a topic. ozarkpugs
My first thought is ,they gave up their guns so let them fight with sticks and stones . I would vote for arming the citizens if they voted in a Constitutional Republic with the right to keep and bare arms though.Sent from my Moto E (4) using Tapatalk
