.22 WMR Semi Auto Pistol

Recommended Posts

Just an early AM rambling thought.  I see bunches of .22LR pistols out there but Ive never seen any semi autos chambered in .22 WMR.  Is this a matter of physics or market? With all the high power large caliber pistols out there I wouldnt think the load pressures couldnt be overcome.  Is it because of the length of the round itself?   I think it would be pretty cool to have a little semi auto magnum pistol.

That pistol is a bit pricey.  My 1911CS was $150 cheaper.  I like it tho.

THe Keltec is $100 cheaper than the RIA.  Definitely in the running.

It is a cool gun. Light as a feather, until fully loaded.

I've shot the Kel-tec. It's a fun shooter and I'd buy one if I stumbled across one.

The hard part with the RI will be just finding one in stock somewhere. They made 1,600 for all of 2018 and sold through 1 distributor only. That made them nearly impossible to get for a lot of shops. They are supposed to be making more this year but it will still probably be less than 10,000 total units so it won't get much easier to find.

I seriously had at least 1,600 requests just from my stores of customers asking about them. Gun companies seem to be their own worst enemy sometimes. When you launch a new product do the production before the announcement. At least enough to get the product on some gun store shelves. Otherwise you are pissing people off.

Dang. I like that RI.  Is the barrel stationary? It looks like it in the photos.

I'd rather have the RIA 10mm.

I've got one and love it. It is the GI model and I want to upgrade the sights. I already upgraded the trigger, hammer and both the grip and thumb safeties. It runs like a top and puts bullets in close proximity to each other.
