Grilling time

Recommended Posts

Well, we've just wrapped up moving (story, not written down yet) and I have the Treager in the back yard. Went to get it hot for the spring and the pellets inside turned to sawdust for the winter with all the humidity. Now I need to pull the pellet box, auger, and clean it out.  Oh well, that's a welcome project over moving.

what you need is a shop vac works every time.....I have owned a Trager for years.

My buddy even made a little strainer box to pour the last of the pellets from the bad into....he shakes out the fine dust from the bottom of the bag as it clogs the auger.

Got the auger cleaned out tonight with much picking with a flathead.  We're out of town for a week but when we get back I'm going to be grilling up as much as I can.

Fired it up a couple times. I'm debating of slow cooking a pork butt tomorrow.

Ever think about vacuuming it out before winter?  If the shop vac is clean, you can save the pellets maybe?  I dunno, Ive never used a Traeger.

That'd be an option. The hopper on this model isn't too big so I'll just run it dry and call it good when the rainy season starts
