I really don't want to read any more, but strange..another husband and wife on the same street also contracted the virus about the same time. My guess is there is a restaurant in the area that needs to be shut down.

ewallover
I’m utterly at a loss for words...when I went back to the first post it took my breath away. An anchor of the Armory is gone and we are all the poorer for it. We spoke often of his nephew, a fabulous young competitive swimmer in Bethlehem, PA and he was as proud of him as a man could be. I will miss him, we all will miss him, and I can only trust that he and his wife are together in God’s kingdom. Rest In Peace my friend... zoomy
I am beyond shocked and saddened. It’s remarkable the relationship we can develop with our conversations in the Armory. i am no less saddened than had it been a close neighbor and his wife. There will be a void in this place and it is a testament to Jeff’s positive mark that he has left here. Rest in peace brother and the same for your lovely bride. You will be truly missed. I've lost a brother, cousin, and good friend to illnesses that could have had a good chance of recovery had they seeked treatment. They told others they didn't need medical care. Life is fragile. One of the articles said they were diagnosed as having flu by medical care of some sort. It is a shame, there is a test for flu and it is cheap to run and accurate but is often skipped by providers because "it isn't necessary". A friend of mine died a couple of years back from toxic shock after having been to the doctor and being diagnosed with flu based on symptoms only and no test. She actually ended up calling 911 and being taken in to the hospital after 3 days of no improvement. By that time, her organs we failing and she lingered in ICU for several days before dying. Had she been diagnosed correctly through testing she would still be alive. It wasn't even the common cause of toxic shock in females. It was an ingrown hair that killed her. Barely more than a pimple in outward appearance.

My guess is there is a restaurant in the area that needs to be shut down. The Martin County Health Dept needs to do a sweep of all the restaurants in the area and check the staff. Its also a good possibility if these homes are on wells and there is an infiltration of contamination from septic systems. Another possibility is many FL cities use reclaimed water. Mostly for irrigation but I know in Jacksonville some reclaimed makes it back to the public water system. Its scary now there are other cases reported. Damn shame something like this can take folks out and those folks who are very sick think or are told they have something bad but survivable like the flu and have it turn out badly. G, you will be missed.
