I don't think the deranged mullahs are taking into account what the U.S. Military has learned after all the time we spent fighting in the Middle East, and how advanced our Military has become. If we do go to a full scale war (which I highly doubt) I think Iran will learn about what our satellites, Air Force, Navy, and possibly Special Forces united are capable of before any large number of American troops would be needed on the ground, if at all. It is obvious that the U.S. Military already has contingency plans for any conceivable conflict with Iran. I heard an Iranian Immigrant on the radio the other day, who is now a U.S. citizen, and has converted to Christianity. He did not move to the USA until his college years, so is familiar with the culture of Iran. This guy said that Americans need to understand how displeased the majority of the Iranian people are with the current regime. He said the Mullah's support of terrorism, and their bad deeds not allowing Iran to become part of the world community, has basically created a secular Iran, that is tired of the "sin police" and all the horror that comes with living in this theocratic dictatorship. It's my hope that we will not make the same mistake we did before, and that we will support the working class rebellion in Iran that may develop when the USA strikes. None of this is good news, except that Trump's new sanctions, and his victory in getting the EU (mostly) to support them without much cheating, has finally struck a nerve, probably causing more discontent among the Iranian people. Other than sending resources to the area, and showing their Navy there are consequences, I have had the idea for many years that Special Forces and the right CIA agents could get Iranian regime to fall of its own weight at the hands of their own people, who have had a taste of what the outside world can offer, and, from at least one source, totally fed up living under the Mullah's edicts. Levin spoke just the other day how the UAE was shaking our hand and stabbing us in the back at the same time. You don't have to send any troops into Iran, you just cut off their access to the rest of the world and they will collapse within 6 months. It is entirely possible for a single carrier task force to do exactly that, why do you think they get so nervous when there is a carrier in the area? And as far as them being able to block the straits, good freaking luck with getting a short range missile launcher to survive 24 hours. Trump needs to send a message to them by violating their air space and shooting down anything they send up to intercept and blowing the rest up on the ground. And I am sure our subs are already in the area, sure would be a cool headline to have only the second underwater sub on sub kill ever, maybe 3rd, 4th, 5th at the same time. That only benefits them if they can sell their oil and bring in the money from the sales. As strategic as the straits are, they only move 30% of the world's supply through them. 100% of Iran's oil exports move through 3 points on Earth.
