Flesh Wound

Idle hands V2.0

Recommended Posts

I printed that "Shockwave" stabilizer I found on Thingiverse. There were a couple of things I did not like about it. As I am still sick I'm pretty much stuck at home sitting at my CAD desk. Been thinking of making something. "Hey!" I says. Why not make a better one? So I did. 2 hours of CAD work. Mostly trying to figure out how to make some of the reinforcement features on the thing. Two other things I wanted to achieve were to make this simpler to print and make it so it fits on a MILSPEC buffer tube. I think I've hit it on the target on both!

So here are the CAD images. I'm out of filament so I'll print one once I'm stocked back up.

Too cool. So there's 3 now, right? the original "proprietary everything" with screw/bolt. The 2.0 which collapsed with lever. 3.0 which collapses with lever and uses mil-spec tube?

This will have a screw. For now. I can prolly refine this. I was mostly just a little bored and feeling like crud. Even if I never print another one the mind exercise figuring out how to draw the thing is good practice.

Printed this overnight. I'm pleased. The fit to my MILSPEC tube is a hair looser than I like but once secured I'm sure it will be fine.
