Way cool stuff, as usual. 

With the return of the USA into maned space flight, and what seems to be a resurgence in technological  advancement,  

one gets the idea we won't recognize the place in 10 years since this new enlightenment since to be accelerating so quickly. 

 

Looking it at it from a distance, it is going to be difficult for a government with such inclinations to control the means of production when so many people will be able to manufacture so many things in the privacy of their own homes. It's like a mirror image reflection of the old cottage industry period before the consolidation and advancement into manufacturing facilities. Only this time, those involved in the "cottage industry" will not be beholding to the large companies who provide supplies and demand the product for the least cost. This way, these individual can simply produce what is in demand,  

from materials available on the free market, and not just from a centralized (and controlling) buyer.
