I looked up a medical problem on the well established Health Web sites, when I became confused by one.

IIRC it was mayo Clinic. Apparently it is important to distinguish gender, as treatment, symptoms, etc are different

between men and women. 

 

What confused me was when I first read:

If you are a person with a penis then the symptoms...

If you are a person without a penis then you should...

 

The article repeatedly used this same phrasing : 

 

If you are a person with a penis then...

If you are a person without a penis then...

I suppose this was an effort to not offend anyone about their equipment, (or lack thereof) in contrast to their outward delusion.

Had never seen anything like it in my life. Is this really what has become important in our culture ? 

 

Anyway, the article must have used those descriptions 20 times, instead of using man or woman, or male and female. I found it quite humorous that publishers are actually concerned with such things.  Even a week later, I smile when I think about it, so I thought I would pass it along. I guess I am easily amused.

Some people have quite figured out what there true gender is! 

Are they referring to the current or previous status?

What about transgender that have had the surgery? They had one at of the 2, but now it's the other! Which one do they follow?
