Retcop
it was $4.59 per gallon for 87 octane (10% ethanol) gas. This is the highest I can remember in my lifetime. The only tolerable thing is that Comrade Biden has not yet suggested the use of price controls, as Jimmy Carter did during the Iranian Hostage gas shortage. The price controls had the effect of not changing users or producers behavior. The price controls gave the oil providers no incentive to produce more oil and gas, and the relatively low prices gave consumers any reason to drive less except to avoid the gas lines. Fill-ups were controlled by the last or first number of your license plate, I can't remember exactly. I do the remember the very long lines, and how ugly the gas lines sometimes got. It is good that the gas prices are so high because that way it will at least be available. Please do not support price controls, because all that will do is make gasoline unavailable. Thanks John BTW: Not understanding why Republicans in D.C. can't/won't file Articles of Impeachment against Biden for his continued policies against the Keystone Pipeline, and the failure to allow American Oil and Natural Gas Producers. There is no question this is a matter of National Security, and a clear and present danger. Even if we know the Impeachment most likely will not be effective, it leaves no doubt where the Conservatives stand on the threat, and what should be done about it. It is early March. Prices will also go up because the summer blend costs more than the winter blend to produce, and time to switch. As Biden continues dangerous policies supported by Marxist ideology over pragmatic use of resources, the Right needs to file on unfitness grounds too.
