Berry Bullets

Recommended Posts

As long as you don't overcrimp, and you keep the velocity below around 1200 fps, they should work fine. I've loaded a bunch of 10mm Berry's bullets.

Thank you. What happens if you pass 1200fps?

I've heard that the lead could go right through the copper plate, leaving the plating as a barrel obstruction. I can't prove it's true, but prefer not to find out the hard way.

Oh, OK. Thank you. Didn't realize there were plated. I've heard something similar just didn't didn't realize that's what these were.

For the price, (IIRC Graf & Sons includes S/H in ther price) I might give them a try

I have used the 45 ACP 230 RN for lots of lo cost plinking. Max velocity I pushed them was 950 fps.

They were especially accurate at 850 fps.

I've had good luck using Precision Bullets moly coated. I like the accuracy I'm getting with their 185 grainers.

I've pushed my 180gr Xtreme's to 1250 and I've been very impressed with the plating on them. I shot some 180's through 6 sheets of MDF and they came out the other side still in excellent shape, which is surprising for a plated bullet. My dad pushes them out of his .357 Mag to very high velocities with no issues. And the best part is they are cheaper than those Berry's.

Rainier's are cheaper at Midway.

Rainier's at Midway

Regards,

BM1

Yes and no.

Graf & Sons

.40 cal, 180gr Berry bullets. Delivered to my zip code.

100pcs = $18.39

500pcs = $70.48

1000pcs = $129.51

Midway USA

.40 cal, 180gr Rainer bullets. Delivered to my zip code.

100pcs = $27.88

500pcs = $72.36

1000pcs = $126.60 (out of stock)

For my zip code I would $2.91 only on the 1000pcs order from Midway which is out of stock at the moment. The nice thing about Graf & Sons is if I added more stuff to the order it doesn't increase the shipping which it does at Midway
