redbarron06 3,341 Posted March 28, 2009 Local Option on Parks Bill The Tennessean is reporting on March 26 about the parks bill and the local option issue which will allow local governments to decide which local parks - IF ANY - are open to permit holders. Curiously, Rep. Janis Sontany (D. Nashville), who has a long history of resisting 2nd Amendment rights, was quoted by the Tennessean as follows after she voted on the parks bill: Rep. Janis Sontany, a Nashville Democrat, said she voted for the local parks bill because Nashville Mayor Karl Dean has assured her that he won't take steps to allow guns in Metro parks. http://tennessean.com/article/20090326/ ... /903260337 It is imperative that we get the local parks option stripped.
